I was in Buenos Aires, 18 months ago. I noticed on the publically run buses a reference to Los Malvinas.
I'm ambivalent on that. It's small bit of dirt alot closer to BA than London.

FIFA just want Messi to go back to back and get another Best Player award. Messi got tackled hard by England and the whole squad confronted the ref, if rules applied the whole team would have had yellows then and there.

This made the country one of the largest settlement destinations for survivors in South America.. My family is in this category, and they operated business, started families, become and contributed to society and never experienced anti-Semitic like in Europe.
Alongside this, Between 1.3 and 1.5 million people of Syrian descent live in Argentina, representing one of the largest Arab diasporas in the world. The vast majority are descended from a massive wave of immigrants who arrived in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including former president Carlos Menem.
I am firm believer that while individuals are racist, countries & societies are not collectively racist.. in Argentina we need to educate people on this topic & have to improve.. like everywhere.. (the UK has Tommy Robinson who is growing in popularity, Australia has Pauline Hanson who might be PM) but we don’t label the UK or Argentina as inherently racist! Argentina should be no different, in fact all data & records show its one of the worlds most successful immigration projects, and it should be celebrated

Argentina was governing and had people living in the Falklands when the British 'invaded' and kicked them off in 1833. The Argies taking over from old colonial Spain.

The Falkland Islands are located roughly 300 to 480 km (about 300 to 370 miles) east of the southern coast of mainland Argentina. In contrast, the archipelago sits about 13,000 km (around 8,000 miles) away from the United Kingdom.
Greenland is different. It has an indigenous Inuit popn. The current population primarily descends from the Thule Inuit, who arrived in the 1200s AD, while the Norse settled the region from the 10th to the 15th centuries. I can't be bothered looking into why Denmark govern them.

At least England have finally beaten a top 10 team in a World Cup knockout match now.
3rd in the world is decent. Argentina was still a huge missed opportunity but overall coming in to the tournament they were ranked 4th and they’ve exceeded that whilst also finishing above a very strong French team.
Interesting to see if they can make home advantage count in two years time but England have been consistently good for almost a decade now so no reason why they can’t.

Not planning to get too deep in here, but I would note that there were (or are) countries with seriously discriminatory policies and laws towards particular ethnic groups within their borders, while on the other hand there are societies with seriously ingrained racist attitudes, which may be limited to certain areas, generations, or class, that do not go away despite the country having laws against them.
But I also think that, paraphrasing here Leo Tolstoy's opening lines from "Anna Karenina", all racist societies are alike, while each "non-racist" society is "non-racist" in its own unique way.

FIFA should scrap the third and fourth playoff if the players are not going to take it seriously. That game was a joke and a disgrace to the World Cup. The players treated it like a preseason festival game. They should be ashamed of themselves.
England scored four in the first half and France four in the second half and we saw some of the worst examples of. “I don’t give a shit defending “ I have ever seen in a World Cup. The fact that Mbappé is probably going to get the golden boot after scoring two goals in this farce game is an outrage. Messi now needs to get two goals in the final to match him.
FIFA should erase this result from the records.

this really sucks :( but cant have too many complaints about today, well beaten by a better team.
After the last 6 years of winning a world cup, 2 copa americas its hard to be too critical it's time to let go of the old guard & welcome in the new generation of which its an exciting one (Alvarez, Barco, Paz etc) we will bounce back im confident..
