Guess we will start to see what impact it will have on future All Whites and Football Ferns in the next 10-15 years.

Also don't forget to vote for the Sporting Moment of the year https://halberg.co.nz/halberg-awards/vote/.  Quite a bit of faffing about to actually submit a vote, might have something to do with tightening up after Bird of the Century was hijacked.

Imagine the threat to rugby if a mens World Cup was either hosted down these ways.

That's great BUT...

Football Ferns in Chch before the WC got around 4000. Recently after the WC they got about 5000 so not much has changed in how many are watching.

There always seems to be only a small correlation between the numbers of ppl playing football and the numbers that watch it. Always surprises me.

Yeah, given playing numbers have never been higher it is odd that it doesnt translate into bums on seats on gameday. In the mens game I suspect it because the aleague isnt EPL quality, and most kids (parents) playing footy follow the superstars in the big leagues but have no interest in the local game itself. I would have thought the women would be different given the newness of the women's team.
