Robert Griffin III (QB/HMEZ) - Signed 2yr deal with Browns (This is surely the Browns doing Browns things)
Who wants Josh Gordon?

Long Weekend Movements
Josh Hill (TE/FA) - Saints match Bears offer sheet, stays as #2 in New Orleans
Nate Washington (WR/MET) - Signs contract with Patriots
Leonard Hankerson (WR/FA) - Signs with Bills
Jared Cook (TE/USOS) - Signs 1yr deal with Packers (OMG Packers made a signing in Free Agency, now all 32 teams have done so)
Ronnie Hillman (RB/) Looks to be close to a deal with the Green Bay Packers...
I heard Eddie Lacy lost some weight...
"David Johnson has earned the chance to be our Bell Cow"
Really? What exactly did he do that Ellington, & Chris Johnson didn't do with the same team?
David Johnson => 125 attempts for 581yds (4.6 avg), 8 TD (He was the goal line back early on)
Chris Johnson => 196 attempts for 814yds (4.2 avg). 3 TD
Andre Ellington => 45 attempts for 289yds (6.3 avg) 3 TD (3 TD on 45 attempts is 8.3 on 125 attempts)
In fact the only area he is better than the other two is in the receiving game with 36 Rec for 457yds 4 TD
Ellington 15 Rec for 148yds, C.Johnson 6 Rec for 58yds
But is pass catching really a reason to be a Bell cow? Not if you can't hold the rushing job as well, and I am not sure he is better at that role than the others.

As a further note I have completed some further testing of our upcoming expansion draft (Including mock rookie drafts) and have made a small adjustment to how the rookie draft will work as I have realised we need an overall limit on the number of players a team can lose as in the later rounds when the expansion teams can pick from any team a few teams end up pillaged of their depth. So I think with looking at Jan, Feb & Mar ADPs & possible expansions We'll put a limit of 5 total players that any one team can lose during the expansion draft.
Bit of a bugger for you Tegal - there's a report on ESPN saying Josh Gordon's failed another drugs test. Have to wait for confirmation I guess, but some guys just don't seem to learn. Could be a huge player as well.
have changed the name of my team....

Having read some stuff online it appears his test showed a small amount of Marijuana (Under the NFL limit), but the test also showed as "Dilute" meaning it was a lot higher in water content than expected, people quite often will drink excessive amounts of water to dilute the sample which also dilutes the amount of the drug being tested for.
when do I need to start trying to remember my login for the ESPN site, and doing some research for the draft?

Also I'm at home for the NFL Draft (Just happens to be my week of school holiday care :P), will be watching live and letting the girls entertain themselves that day, make sure I do things Tue/Wed/Thurs of that week...
So I will make sure to be updating the Rookie Draft thread throughout the day, I will make new posts for 1st Round Rookie Offensive players with my thoughts about where they have gone (eg. Ugh Wentz to Cleveland, remind me who is he going to throw the ball to?)
And then I will re do the Rookie lists with their NFL teams as well so everyone can see who is available and where they are playing.

Rams trade up from 15 to 1 in the draft:
TRADE BY NUMBERS
Titans receive from Rams:
1st round pick (15 overall)
2nd round pick (43)
2nd round pick (45)
3rd round pick (76)
1st round pick in 2017
3rd round pick in 2017
Rams receive from Titans:
1st round pick (1 overall)
4th round pick (113)
6th round pick (177)
So have come up against an issue for the league I need discussion on:
Scheduling. So I have narrowed it down to what I see as the 4 best options, just think we should hold a vote and then decide:
Options:
1) 4 Divisions (Play own division twice, all others once)
2) 2 Divisions (Play own division twice, 3 others once)
a) 3 others are decidedly randomly
b) 3 others decided on previous season rankings (eg 1-3 in Herbert would play 1-3 in Merrick)
3) 3 Divisions (Play own division twice, 7 others once)
If we chose 1) I would keep it as 2 Conferences (Merrick & Herbert) while adding the divisions below that (Dura, Siggy, Ifill & Vinniesta), so the 2 Conf winners make finals automatically, and then 2 wildcards.
There is of course another option which would involve changing the number of weeks in Regular season & Playoffs:
Currently:
Regular Season - Week 1-13
Playoffs - 2wk Match-ups Wk 14-17
Option (4) for change would be 3 Divisions, 14wk Regular season (Play own div twice, other divs once), then 6 team playoffs (Both top & bottom 6), with byes for the #1 & #2 ranked teams on record, 3 Div winners + 3 Wildcards make the Playoffs.
Current 2016 Divisions
Merrick Division | Herbert Division |
Swarlos Rodriguez | London Hammers |
Midas Whale | Naenae Tegal |
Pacific Island Usos | Nialls Paul |
Fairfield Fairies | Rammtallica Billikids |
Mos Eisley Troopers | Belgian Waffles |
Matt D's Team (Ex 2) | Patrick's Team (Ex 1) |
Myself I think I would prefer option 1, but think all of them would work. (Option 3 is nice, but not playing 1 team could be tough, Option 4 cool, but a team finishing 6th winning the title could be a cop out)
I'm not keen on having Week 17 as the sole week to decide who wins overall (as often teams rest players etc). So I'd prefer not to have option 4.
Think my preference would be option one - a bit more like how the NFL is structured. Would you look at setting in stone those divisions or randomizing every year like now?
Percy Harvin (MET) retires from Football
Thiink I like option 2 best. Has the most consistency in who everyone plays in the same division/conference.
Option 1 looks nice, but if you ended up in an easier division within your conference, you end up playing them twice, and everyone else in your conference only plays them once. Huge advantage. Option 2 only has you potentially only playing 3 games differently to the rest of your division/conference.
Through discussion I have also moved from Option 1.
I think I will vote between Option 2 & Option 3, am trying to decide which one I like best.
Option 2 has a max of 3 games different in any battle for the Division Winner
Option 3 means for a division title a max diff of one single game, and for the 4th spot (Wildcard) there is a max of 3 different games for any two teams (I believe the average here is slightly higher than option 2)
I have had a couple of trade offers but to be honest I have not really had a chance to have a look at them with enough focus to make a proper decision. Aside from offering to trade Calvin Johnson (he he) I have no idea where my team stands. Let me have a look this week at work, and I will try to get some offers out there.
I got shafted by bad trades last year (not deliberately done, just bad luck). I'm sticking with my draft picks as they are for now and making any trades with absolute caution!
On that note, I have two QB going (or offers on other players if you want) really looking for a good RB. So Brady and Cousins are on the block
I am also open to trade offers. Am even considering trading Aaron Rodgers.

Bradford to Denver?
Bradford to Denver?
Sounds like they are going to draft Wentz & bench him for the season behind Bradford (Not sure how that sits with their fans), they can't really trade him with an $11m cap hit they keep if he goes (THough in saying that another team would only have to pay $7m for Bradford for this seaosn)
Sounds like there is a trade coming for the #3 pick as well, though it is likely that is for Jalen Ramsey, as Chargers don't want him, but a loit of others do.
Josh Norman is now a free agent as the Franchise Tag deal has been rescinded...assuming there is something else going on here (Arrest? Failed Drug test?)
Why does it post twice?
Sounds like he had said "Make me the highest paid CB or I'll holdout" & the Panthers have said, "Ok then, lets see you get that deal elsewhere"
I've started to add NFL Depth Charts to the front page (At this point they are from my own views of the players as all the depth charts out there are just messy, let me know if the colours are an issue and I'll have a play around. NFC is now all completed.
NFL Depth Charts
Wow, amazing amount of work there Jono. Only query would be Hardy ahead of Sinu for the Falcons - would have thought the other way around (and of course my man ZZ to crush it at RB for Detroit :))
Yeah I couldn't really decide on Sanu vs Hardy (Probably will be Sanu as the #2), I think the Sanu signing is probably a sign that Hardy isn't ready.
Haha Zac Zenner, dear lord, I was intrigued originally, but that backfield is nearly as stuffed as the Giants one.
So Josh Norman leaving Carolina has to be good news for NFC South receivers, Julio Jones, Brandin Cooks & Mike Evans (NICE!), unless he goes to Saints I'll be happy :D

Saints have stuff all cap space I think, so you should be go to go there.

Was tlak they could make it work, but I'd think it's impossible myself. I think they should be cutting a bunch of the older big cap hits and taking hts this year to be better next season (They are the worst team in their division)
Mind you i don't think they are as bad as the Colts...
My bottom 3 for 2016 right now: Colts, Browns (Unless their def is improved in draft), 49ers (After that it's a battle between Saints & Ravens for 4th bottom :P)
People keep talking about the Colts as getting Luck back (But he played badly at the start of the season, they still don't have an even average OLine, their defense is now the worst in the league and Gore is only getting older and then behind that they have no one)
Browns will just Browns it (But think they will go Defense heavy this draft, and then rebuild offense next draft)
49ers...just WOW that team is a dumpster fire already and they got in Chip Kelly...(It will be ok so long as he has NO say over personnel)
Saints Defense is horrid, and Ravens just seem to be thinking status quo is ok.
