Wii Sport and Wii Mario Kart is pretty good, we've got Wii Resort on the way which has beach cricket apparently. Just an all round brilliant console for a totally different style of gaming. My 17 y/o bro and his mate spent Christmas day telling us all how rubbish they are and that the PS3 is a supreme console, and why buy something you can't play COD4.2 on? Well by the end of the day they were right into it playing boxing and what not. I'm just loving that after years of gaming between me and my bro, my parents at the grand old age of 50 are getting into it!

In saying that I thought dad was going to have a bit of a heart attack after a couple of rounds of boxing!!!

Oh, and when you play the Mrs at something, ensure there is a massive distance between you, she's smacked me so many times someone needs to ask her "are you ok?"

I'm contemplating getting out the Ashes game for it to see how that goes down...I think it'll be frustrating though as it's such an intense game for an arcade style machine. However we're getting Wii resort tomorrow which looks mint...PING PONG BABY!

I got one on launch day.

Inadvertantly found myself queing up for it outside of Gamesman in Cuba.

I felt like such a nerdy tool.

I am very, very tempted by the cricket game, but almost every Cricket game I've played  has sucked balls because its so difficult to get right. I have assumed that wii cricket would be the same and have avoided. My brother is desperate for me to get it though.

I can't find a store to rent Wii games from so I can't try before I buy which is annoying.

The most used games in the mikecj household are:

Mario Kart Wii
Mario Kart 64
Wii Sports Resort
Mario Strikers Football (although no one is at my level so no one plays with me anymore, and the AI gets very hard, very quickly).

Games just sitting there because I have clocked are:

Super Mario Galaxy
Super Mario Bros. Wii
Quantum of Solace
Zelda

Games that were cool for a month but have now lost their appeal to me and now sit gathering dust are:

Wii Fit
Wii Fit Plus
Wii Balance Board.

sh*thouse games I wish I had never bought:

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Price (the girl bought that)
Mario Party 8
NFL 2007

if i'm being honest...

the appeal wore off after about a month for me. rather had got a ps3 or 360. more practical uses than a wii (networked media, for example)

Just got one last night, heaps of fun but mrs is away so I'm doing it solo, only have Wii Sports as well so need more games. Harvest Moon has always been a favorite of mine so I'm glad that's on there. It does annoy me that I can't directly connect it to my broadband though.

Really ?

Junior News is watching Speed Racer on YouTube on the one here now.

Or do you mean hardwire, not wireless ?

Hardwire, you need a 'special' adapter to fit USB to an ethernet cable. I know it's only a small box but a standard LAN port would have been very much appreciated. Also, it doesn't play DVD's which was disappointing.

well nintendo never make cross platform devices. They figure if you already have a dvd player in the house, you really dont need another one built into a console.
also cuts the price.
Sony keep pushing this forward. PS2 had DVD, PS3 had blue-ray, but when both consoles were realeased players of these formats where not common in most homes.

Flip side of that coin is that I don't have enough RCA inputs for Sky, Wii and a DVD player (unless I fork out for DVD component cables). The best solution is to buy an Xbox360 for a similar price which I'm sure is not what Nintendo really wants. I could plug something into the front input but it looks too messy.

I used that as an excuse to buy a new telly.

I could solve all my problems and just pay M$ the $180 to get my Xbox fixed, then I could plug that into the DVD component. sh*t load of money though considering they should have fixed it when the warranty was still valid but they f**ked me around and now expect me to pay for it.
