Out of nowhere, Football Manager Handheld, which has been available on iPhones/iPads for a while, has been released for the Android platform!

I'm really enjoying it. I struggle to find the time to commit to desktop-FM these days, it's become a bit of a beast, taking ages to churn through a season. FM handheld is like a trip back in time to the early 90s, where the early Championship Managers  (in those days) were quick, light, and fun.

I'd highly recommend it. I'm playing it on a very basic LG Optimus One P500 smartphone, and it's running great.

Had a season as the nix, after a dreadful start really got it together, before losing to a late goal in the preliminary final.

Cost about $13 I think from the play store, might sound a lot for a smartphone game, but it's actually fantastic value.

I've got it running on both my android phone and my tablet, it's great! The only issue I have is the game doesn't scale completely to the size of the tablets screen, I have a big black border around the edge.

I think the idea of the 'challenge' mode is great, it means you can play a shorter game where you will either win or lose, unlike manager mode. I've just started the one where most of my first team have long term injuries, so I have to try and play the reserve team and not get sacked before the end of the season.

I haven't had a go at that challenge mode, might have to try it.

I believe SI are working on the resolution/black border "bug", might be fixed in the next update.
