Not bad, eh?
I'm currently using the database which allows you to play the English pyramid down to Unibond division 10. Pretty amazing and I'm really enjoying my game at the moment.
Some result that.
I've tried a few custom databases (Martinique, Maldives, Italian Serie D) but get a little bored by them quickly. Maybe it's a little down to the overall realism that lies within these custom databases.
Since only Dan replied i may have to heed his advice and become Sparta Prague manager. Keen to try take a team from one of Europe's more average leagues to CL glory.

I would have chosen Dortmund. Can wear your 'Nix stuff and rep the correct colours while playing
they are a biggish team, CL winners and huge stadium so maybe one of the easier options on the list.

With the advanced editor you can get nearly total accuracy on leagues though.
Finally got it working again yesterday - after much fannying about!!!
Who you managing? I still can't decide haha.

Choose Arminia Bielefeld, I have a mate from there. Currently in the 2nd Bundesliga, I managed them back in CM02/03 on my xbox and I think got them into the final of the CL, might have won it... might go home and play tonight. They have recently had a points deduction, as explained by my mate (I couldn't find anything in English) [quote]As you already know Bielefeld got deducted (?) 4 points because of infringement of the DFL's financial licence terms. I still don't know what exactly happens, but the building of the new main stand got 1.5 times as expensive as planned with a construction firm owned by one of the club's management members. Seems like that was one purpose. And now the club has to get about 4 million until the end of june to get the licence for the next 2.Bundesliga season. Otherwise the club will be relegatet to the 3rd Bundesliga or to the Regionalliga.Squad should get you there abouts to promotion and once in the Bundesliga you should work your way up.
Just finished my 7th season with San Marino, 3rd in Serie B and the nix have just approached me. What should i do?
Stay. You must take San Marino to European glory.
Hates scoring 122nd minute goals to win the Champions League!!! Thierry Henry in probably his last appearance for Barcelona delivers. Ripper. And over Real Madrid as well. That much sweeter!
My FM disk has decided it doesn't like my Macbook anymore (or vice versa).
Phukka

FM 10 patch 3 no CD/DVD crack although I've just noticed you're using a mac so I'm thinking that actually wont work.
Haven't played this properly in a bit. Need a team to be.
Am considering:
Panathinaikos
Sparta Prague
Slavia Prague
Borussia Dortmund
Bayer Leverkusen
Partizan Belgrade
Red Bull Salzburg
Austria Vienna
Oh wise forum, help out a poor old soul :)

Sparta Prague cause they seemed the more awesome on my Rivalries DVD.
I'm gonna start one with Portsmouth after I've got tired of Barcelona. Try and avoid relegation. Or maybe Twente or Utrecht.

Yeah I find most databases are inaccurate and you'll find the creators favourite players really boosted. But this is one of the best and most accurate databases I've ever seen.
Heres a link for those interested in case they havent come across it in their internet travels

Haven't decided yet
I put Dortmund and Leverkusen there because in all my time playing FM (05, 07 and 10) i've never done a proper German game and wouldn't mind giving it a crack sometime. I know what you mean about easier options, i've won the League and CL in various versions of FM with English, Spanish and Italian sides as well as come close with Portuguese and Dutch sides (never got to grips with France though ).
So basically with all my FM expertise (haha yeah right) i wanted a real challenge and thought about taking a team like Sparta Prague or Panathinaikos to CL glory as it could actually take a number of seasons to build a side even close to being able to achieve that. And i'm recently single again so a long haul game is all good haha.

Currently Aberdeen and used a real time editor to boost the Transfer Kitty.. Stupid thing is I can't boost the actual bank balance other than the transfer/wage bill so am indebt and have got a transfer embargo placed on me.. haha
Lol that'll teach ya

Another team I'm contemplating is Dinamo Bucharest, Romanians that Moss was with for awhile.

Hmm interesting team there Bullion, not sure i want a lower league game right now though.
God i'm picky aren't i?

What about a Danish team? Brondby maybe? Or Midtjylland with Reid.
Hmmm maybe. Done several Scandinavian games before though so perhaps not. I was thinking about a Romanian side a la Dinamo Bucharest as you suggested above.
Jeez i'm hopeless. Leaning more towards Sparta Prague though.

Yeah, see where you coming from. I'm bored of playing Premier League now. Playing my first one in La Liga now (relatively new to this game). Gonna try France and then Romania or somewhere less known after that/
Well i hope you go better in France than i did haha.
If anything this thread shows the YF community just how utterly useless i am at making decisions.

Alright...
I am bottom of League Two with Brentford, by about 6 points, half way through the season. Club is in financial strife. I do not have enough players for a full match day squad even. God awful defenders. Doing my best to keep morale up.
Suggestions? (Other than resignation)

Play this formation:
GK
RB - CB - CB - LB
DM
CM - CM
AM - AM
ST
DM and one of the CMs as ball winner. ST as target man (obviously). One CB as a stopper. Keep your fullbacks at home. Play tight, rigid and counter. Do your best to scrape whatever results you can.

Am currently playing that exact formation, however will give your tactics a shot.
Commenting on players form at any opportunity in the appropriate manner will do wonders for morale, though it can be hit and miss if you don't know your players well. Asking for a parent club can help you get good enough players on loan at no cost to you.
Yeah I comment on their form on a regular basis, it's like a management staple to do. You get to know which players react to what comment after a while. Will try the parent club option too, being a London team, should be able to get someone decent.
Finally made a decision on who to be. In the end i opted for:
Parent clubs can be key if you're in the lower leagues. Getting the right club can go a long way
Solihull with Birmingham as a feeder club was a huge success for me in 09. Brum always accept seeing as Solihull's ground is where the Birmingham reserves play.
i starter with wrexham and have got them to the premier league from conference
i found Leicester worked well
i found Leicester worked well
I've taken Greenock Morton up to the SPL (after getting my new shirt on Sat lol). So now to get into Europe!!!
I've been an FM nut for almost 20 years, but now have VERY little time to play, and of course each incarnation of the game is deeper and more involved which = even MORE time required to dedicate to the game.
I had been finding that with such limited time to play it from week to week, that I could never get "into" each save game enough - a season would take a month or two to play, and by then I'd be bored of the game and want to start a new one ("second season syndrome", where I'd slog through the first season, only to get to the start of the second season, and be overwhelmed by the thought of another two months to complete a 60 game season, and lose all enthusiasm).
So... thanks to the magic of the new competition editor, I created something I had been meaning to for a while... a one-round Premier League competition (instead of 2 rounds). What this means is that the premier league season is only 19 games.
I also ditched the League Cup, and created a revised FA Cup, with substantially larger prize money on offer. I also injected a lot more TV money and competition money into the premier league.
I also removed entirely the transfer windows, allowed 7 subs on the bench in all games, and made a requirement of 3 under-21 players in a match day squad.
These changes only took 20 minutes in the editor (I also made championship, league 1 & 2 one-round competitions also).
This is obviously heniously unrealistic, however I think it's rejuvenated my enthusiasm for the game - a season for a premier league team will only be 20-25 games (maybe a few more if in champions league etc).
I've started a new game as Sunderland, and have made a terrible start to the season - maybe my worst ever! - with one win in 9 games. All of a sudden, I'm halfway through the season, in an immediate fight to get out of the relegation battle. It's all very intense. With the extra money, all other Premier clubs are buying some quality players (including heaps of youngsters), which is really going to make things tough.
There will probably be some issues along the way with the changes I've made - ie, even though I've shorted the season by a month or two, most games are spaced out by one to two weeks, meaning a different approach to fitness levels etc. But I'm really enjoying it so far.
Sounds like a good bit of fun. Would you consider putting the database up on the net for us to download?
Just finished my 7th season with San Marino, 3rd in Serie B and the nix have just approached me. What should i do?
On my first season with Phoenix - in 2nd place with 4 games to go...here's hoping I can maybe even win it, although CCM are pretty good! Still, I beat them away on 31 Dec, just like the real result!
Also got Chris Killen signed up for next season.
Stay. You must take San Marino to European glory.
