2015/16 Chant Chat | 1pm Sun 20 Sept | Backbencher

Hey team,

After last years event was so successful and we got the Roly Bonevacia chant out of it, we'll run our Chant Chat session again. We'll do it the Sunday before the Auckland City friendly, so that we can have a chance to test out what we come up with at that match.

The idea is to get a group of us together and come up with some new chants for the season to keep our repertoire fresh. We'll obviously need to work out some chants for the new Phoenix players, but coming up with some general Phoenix chants to roll off when the Zone is a bit quiet during matches would also be good. 

Everyone is welcome and the more chant ideas we get, the more likely we are to find a few gems that will help us make the Fever Zone rowdy on gamedays!

ill just do what I do every year.  

Step 1: Read the new chants on the forums.  

Step 2: Recite them over and over a few times in my head until I have a good grasp of them.

Step 3: Get drunk on game day and completely forget the chant

Step 4: Mumble the tune and slowly pick up words throughout the season.

Step 5: have the chant completely learned in the last game right before it becomes outdated and\or changed.

Step 6: keep drinking

Any reason why you wouldn't do this on the day of the ACFC game, and then practise them that day

Crap thought this was going to be before the ACFC game.  Hope it went well.

The singing will be at the ACFC game... today was just planning session. We need time to print up song sheets for the ACFC game.

Song sheets... shakes head in despair.

They were well received, very well received, last year by significant numbers of people around the periphery of the Fever Zone. "Oh wow, is THAT what you have been singing...?" and "Oh I never realised those were the lyrics..." were heard repeatedly.

Surely the idea is to get more people singing?

I'm feeling very up beat.  This is the season that we get "Stand up for the Phoenix" right.

News you know as well as we do that every club has a song sheet, not everyone displays it quite overtly though.
