We had an SSL certificate expire on us, and we had to wait for the London office of Fever Towers to wake up to be able to fix it.

Yeah my bad folks, should have had a renewal coming through every so often and it didn't fire... and you folks noticed it first since you're in THE FUTURE.

You guys should just do what everyone else does and use the free cloudflare tier, it must be a severe PITA to have to sort out these sorts of things on a weekend.

That issue has been around for years, I'm pretty sure it's because posts have been hidden but it's not taking that into account when it figures out the last page.

PMs are fixed. They were working before, but showed an error because the email notification was failing.  Now they are just working.

any update on the iOS app, I'm on iOS 11 public beta and it can't be accessed, I'd imagine iOS11 will be released fully to the public in about 4 weeks

yes I realise that, just wondering if it will be ready in a month, as it wont work with iOS11

i did not use the link on yellow fever, i used the link on my bookmarks it also said page not found then redirected me to the australia football page then clicked on the phoenix link from that page.

The less time the Assistant to the Senior Intern has to say "we are working on it but real life and work gets in the way sometimes", the more time he can devote to fixing it.

Maybe this might be unpopular, and real life issues aside, surely it would be a better look to have the app available now the season has started? The iOS app has been unloved for a while. Black screens posting meaning a forced restart, lack of compatibility with iOS 11, feature lag behind the Android version. The season has started and I find myself browsing the forums less often, since there isn't a nice mobile version of the site either.

Telling people to get an Android or to just suck it up doesn't grow the fan base. And that should be the real conversation.

We have decided we aren’t going to be doing apps anymore. 

This was a pretty tough decision for us, but basically the time investment wasn’t making sense. We had about 20-30 people using them at peak (ie directly after release), and I’m 70-80 hours into the update for iOS 11. At this rate, it’s more time efficient for me to go to your house and read you the forums like a bed time story. 

The other thing is that that time doesn’t come from nowhere - it takes away from improvements and maintenance to the forums for everyone else. 

We’d prefer to put that effort into the site in general (including maybe some mobile friendliness). 

Maybe the apps will come back one day, but for now no apps > crappy out of date apps. 

I quite like the idea of you reading me a bed time forum story. 

Depending on that week's game, it might be a nightmare. 

This sounds reasonable. Certainty is better than wondering. A mobile version of the site sounds good.

Most likely will just be adapting what we have to be more friendly rather than a completely different version. Otherwise we have the app problem again.

the reason why you click to go direct to the last post in a thread and it doesn't is because of deleted posts right? Can't you delete the deleted posts in the database?
