Private messaging!!!

You've waited over three years for it, and it's finally here. You can now private message other users.

There's a link to your inbox up underneath your avatar at the top of the page. You can send text based messages to one or more users by hitting 'Start Conversation'. They'll receive an email letting them know that there's a message waiting for them.

You can opt out of receiving emails by editing your profile and ticking the 'Opt out' box. 

Now to just implement ignoring posts by certain users...

Oh yeah, make sure you report any bugs or issues in this thread so I can iron them out.

Mods can still see what you send other people, although we won't go looking at peoples messages unless we have a reason to. So don't spam people or abuse them and you'll be fine.

Can you PM yourself?

The recipient suggestion list on Chrome gets cut off about midway through the third suggestion by the footer. Also the buttons are missing their right hand side. That's all I've noticed so far.

The button thing is a known issue, trying to work out how to fix it had taken me far too long already!

What OS are you on? The drop down box appears above the footer for me, but I think I know how to fix it.

It's not in the app yet. Just the website. Will update apps at some point.

Patrick, can a button be added onto a persons profile for this. Eg: If during a thread I see Patrick478 and click on his name, his profile comes up and I could then send him a direct PM. as it is at the moment, you have to use the dropdown and select. Which is cool but  can be slowish. also on that page the advertising on the bottom takes up a chunck of your screen. typing this on a 19" monitor using IE. Just a suggestion.

Good idea on the easier way to send messges to people. I've chucked a button on the profile view page to do that for you :).

Working on fixing the dropdown menu thing too.
