Siggy Stardust: t-shirts available now!

We've teamed up with the Nix to create a t-shirt to honour Siggy as he plays his final game for the Nix. They are currently on pre-order at Football Central, and will be available for collection in store from Thursday onwards for $20 each. There's limited stock available, so ordering yours as soon as you can is a must!

We're also happy to announce that $2 from each shirt sale will go to the Neo-Natal Trust, the charity that Siggy and his wife Deanna are staunch supporters of.

People stared at the makeup on his face
Laughed at his short 'blond' hair, his 'animal grace'
The man in the bright yellow shirt
Jumped up on the pitch
Siggy Stardust played his game
Of defence and no pace

Tickets? Tickets? We talkin’ about tickets?

And he was aaaaalllright, the nix boys were together

Yes he was aaaaalllright, his legacy will last forever

To us he was awful nice

To the other team he gave a fright

And we boozed all night long

shouldnt we be making lyrics to the tune of ziggy stardust rather than lady stardust though?

Ordered mine :)

They'll be available for pick up or to purchase in store from tomorrow morning! Excite!

If there's still shirts available, they will be on sale at the game though.

Yeah, the one next to Aisle 22. No guarantees that there will be stock left though, sorry.

You could always put in an order on the website and choose Courier shipping option? Do it today, should ship tomorrow and arrive Saturday.

Great that Siggy gets a shirt and neonatal units are super important so great they are involved too. Just wondering if Manny gets a shirt?

No shirt for Manny, but we are definitely still honouring him in the Zone before the game. Keep an eye out.

Not sure this is singable, but here goes

Siggy played football, starting once with The Kingz, ending up at The Nix,

The All Whites in Oman. He played at the back
But couldn't run too fast
Became out special man, in bright yellow and black

When Siggy really ran, screwed up eyes and screwed his hamstring
Like some back at City, he could kick 'em when smiling
He could leave them to hang
Came back from Manningham, Mainlander with an Aussie tan.

So where was the licence, while the FFA tried to break our balls
With just the beer light to guide us,
So we bitched about the bans and should we crush Lowry's plans

Siggy played for time, eight Nix seasons to do
The man was just class, United alas
With the Fawkner Blues
He went near and far but boy did he play his dues

Ending up his career Siggy had retirement in mind
From an All White defender
When the hamstring had pinged the man he had to make up his plan

Siggy played football

From memory Manny has had a tee shirt in his honour before too.

Bought an XL at the stadium and it actually fitted me. I must be losing weight. Best $20 I have spent in a while. A few guys around me went and bought one at half time too.

Had mine signed by the man himself after the game.  That'll go straight to the Pool Room.

Mine ended up with Dura, on its way to Siggy's best mate. Good times.

Yeah and having a crowd over 10k they hopefully did quite well through shirt sales and collections.

Sorry to be a trainspotter, but the graphic is of the Aladdin Sane character of Bowie, not Ziggy Stardust.
