Man, heart breaking stuff. Just watched the highlights on FIFA, how many of those goals took nasty deflections? That howler from the keeper which lead to the tap in was pretty bad. Game couldve been a lot closer than 6-1 really. Tahiti couldve had a couple. But now I guess Spain and Uruguay are going to see a 6+ goal haul as a must.
If Nigeria took that game with a smidgeon of seriousness, that would have been absolute carnage. Nigeria pretty much had no tactical pattern, didn't really try particularly hard to defend, and attacked as a bunch of individuals out for personal accolades than as a team. And they won 6-1, and fluffed a number of relatively straightforward chances.
It was an embarrassment for Oceania football, and yes, for us too.
