I cant seem to find a thread for this, so thought I would make one.

It has got off to an interesting start, with Togo pulling out, and then Mali scoring 4 goals in the last 11 mins to snatch a 4 all draw with the hosts Angola.

Best tournament ever.

Witch doctors. Fireworks in the stadium. 40 yard pile drivers. Refs being tackled. Horrendous goalkeeping. Crazy defending.

Love it.

Three for me, and two for them.

I see David Banda scored in Malawi's 3-0 win over Algeria. Madonna will be pleased.

Very surprised by Ivory Coast being unable to beat Burkino Faso, maybe it will be Eygpt's tournament in a canter again.

Absolutely spot on Buffy.

Best international football tournament to watch by a long, long way. Shame we don't get to see the games here.

Agreed. Does everyone just stream the games?

I was just going to watch Egypt v Nigeria but get the stupid "we've reached the maximum number of streams for your country" message after two minutes.

Has anyone subscribed to Justin TV (seemes to be US$10 a month), and if so is it reliable or had any issues?

Quality own goal by Mozambique. They look a bit dodgy. Two footed studs up tackle. Ouch.
2-0 Benin.

More comedy goalkeeping by Benin and quick thinking by Mozambique makes it 2-2.

Wish games were shown here.  Egypt vs Cameroon happening now.  Want Egypt to win as they're awesome, and also it'll mean Arsenal get Song back sooner.

I have to say, having watched the games here in the UK the standard has been very poor, the teams just all seem to struggle to retain possession and the passing is average (surfaces haven't helped).  High scoring aside - and a huge number of goals have come about directly or indirectly due to keeping errors - it's been quite disappointing

Algeria 3 Cote d'Ivoire 2 brought a pleasant glow!!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/africa/8479559.stm

Algeria coach Rabah Saadane believes his side's performance on Sunday shows they are a team to be taken seriously.

"I had a lot of criticism after losing the opening game, but we are here now and we have qualified for the semi-final," he said after the game.

"I wasn't surprised by my team, but more by Ivory Coast's decline.

"The critics said after we beat Mali that we only scored goals from dead ball situations, well here we scored three goals from open play.

"We must now be focused. That's all that matters."

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Egypt strolled through to their third successive Africa Cup of Nations final, overcoming Algeria 4-0, with their great rivals finishing with eight men.

Hosni Abd Rabou put Egypt ahead from the spot, after Algeria's Rafik Halliche was sent-off for the foul.

Mohamed Zidan doubled the lead, before Mohamed Abdelshafi made it three and Mohamed Gedo completed the rout.

Algeria totally lost their discipline and saw Nadir Belhadj and keeper Fawzi Chaouchi also dismissed late on.
