FIFA has today officially opened disciplinary proceedings related to the Preliminary Competition match of the 2010 FIFA World Cup between Egypt and Algeria on 14 November 2009.

According to the official reports received by FIFA, on 12 November, there were incidents affecting the Algerian team on its way from the airport to the hotel.

Consequently, disciplinary proceedings have been opened against the Egyptian Football Association. The FIFA Disciplinary Committee will decide on the case.

Be interesting to see what Fifa do about Henry. However, the Algerian road is complete and again they appear at a World Cup.

What the hell has Henry got to do with Algeria qualifying?! Talk about an unhealthy obsession.

And Paston, much like Henry, knows how to use his hands!

So you guys are not aware of the invcestigation going on about Egypt and Algeria?? The point which you both missed was that Fifa are acting fast to deal with this problem, but buried their heads with the French one. What the Egyption fans did was wrong and they will be punished no doubt. A second point you both missed was i was trying to point out the inconsistancy.

Algeria, first appearance since 1986. Hand of God World cup, and this one is the hand of frog World cup. irony's all around.

But they're two completely different situations? Don't really see any inconsistency myself.

big difference between on field and off field problems.

easier to act on fan trouble cos that will probably just result in actions against the egyptian fa whereas the henry incedent directly involves the players

Watched the first 30 minutes of so of their 0-3 loss to Serbia. Algeria looked decent from what I saw. Sort of against the run of play they went down to particularly dodgy keeping - he dived for a cross and completely missed it.

Keeper was a tad lucky, twice.

What a miss!!

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.
