I like the way it's said that he's turned around NZ football by virtue of qualifying for the Confed Cup. I'm sorry, but he hasn't turned us around at all, instead he's achieved the bare minimum expected for our national coach to keep his job, all while playing a type of football that appals followers of the game. And then he occasionally gets the team to turn in a totally schizophrenic performance, like the oft-mentioned Mexico game.
This is why some of us don't rate him, he blows his own trumpet without any real evidence to back him up.
The fact that he became a city banker for a while says all. Having met many of them over here, through work, social drinks etc... I would not trust the word or honesty of one as far as I could throw his champagne glass. See John Key for more info.
