Another poor decision. Maybe also a foul on the keeper?

1-0 Tevez. Loads of controversy there, he was miles offside, then it seems the lino or ref saw it on the big screen and was about to change it. The Mexicans are well fired up now.

Three for me, and two for them.

Why does this tournament even have linesman? Offsides not given, goals that aren't offside disallowed for being offside, and balls crossing the line going unseen. That Argentina goal couldn't have been an easier call!

Ok, that one was legit. sh*t defending, Mexico! 2-nil Argies. Not the beautiful goals I expected!

2-0. It's that man. It's the Hig. Back on top of the golden boot race.

slightly off topic, but with regards to that first goal, have there ever been examples of goals being disallowed/given WAY after the initial decision? it seemed like the ref realised he was wrong but felt it was too late to change his mind, anyone else get that impression?

I'm picking that Messi will not score this World Cup.

Lovin' The Hig. And Messi. And Tevez.
I like tautologies because I like them.

Argentina still untested, I remain unconvinced.

Botafogo - Rio de Janeiro and Wellington Phoenix, my two teams til death do us part.

Has anyone convinced you then BP? And please don't say Brazil, because they were only good in patches throughout the group stage.

N, I wouldn't say Brazil has been convincing, Argentina have played well for sure but against relatively weak opposition, I thought before this game that Mexico would be able to compete but the first goal really rattled them mentally.

I expect Brazil to convince more facing Chile, they need to bring their big game face to this one.

I do like the look of Germany, interesting mix of precision and spontaneity.

I have money on the Dutch and Brazil to win world cup.

Let's see what happens after the round of 16 games, I'm sure we will have all solidified our opinions a little more by then.

Hernandez's goal was excellent - only good thing for the Mexicans from this game. Can't wait to see him in a United shirt.

not quite sure where this Argentina have come from tbh!
it's hard to believe this is the same bunch of players that made a comparative meal of qualifying.

I have a feeling this squad is similar to the France of 06, no matter who was coaching them they would still be dominating.
