Killen has got his 4th goal of the season to keep Shenzhen in a draw with Changchun
Nanchang losing to Jiangsu so Shenzhen will pull itself off the bottom, but Henan is drawing with Shandong so Shenzhen remains in the drop zone.
Beijing spanking Shanghai 3-0

Saudi Arabia prepare for World Cup QualifyingShanghai continue their dismal away form after being beaten 3-0 at Beijing with a 2-1 loss at Qingdao. They are now in 6th place but only 2 pts off 4th spot (ACL qualifying spot), but 11 pts off leaders Guangzhou.
The battles later tonight will be for Shenzhen at home to Tianjin (a win may see them jump out of the relegation zone on goal difference) and Nanchang hosting Hangzhou (who should be too strong).
The first goal was superb. Conca the overpaid Brazilian came on for compatriot Cleo in the second half and scored on debut (a lucky deflection off a defender).
They are now 9 points clear of the top after Beijing could only draw AGAIN.
Oh wow!
Here's a good post to introduce the fiercest rivalry in East Asia: http://asianfootballfeast.blogspot.com/2011/07/roots-of-japan-korea-rivalry.html

Asian Moneyspinning tours A number of European clubs are making pre-season tours, with the benefits of boosting their profile and increasing merchandise sales away from their homelands. Some clubs may have relationships in other countries, but in reality, money is a major reason for these tours. Traditionally, Asia is the biggest market globally for the big professional leagues, especially the English Premier League. East Asia, and particularly Southeast Asia are common destinations for such tours.- Barclays Asia Trophy (Chelski, Blackburn, Villa), July 27 - 30, Hong Kong

Yes I remember you did. However this new money man is waving his RMB around trying to seduce the easily seducible CFA. First up by underpinning the salary of the national team coach and then some and lately by supporting the CSL.
So far the CFA are backing their man G** Hongbo. I hope they continue to do so.
...
The CFA is currently in the middle of a huge re-development of their training systems for youth coaching and have been studying similar models in Europe, South America, Japan, Korea and Australia as they seek to overhaul the way the sport is organised at youth level.
A major, nation-wide program will be implemented in schools from next year with the aims of adequately training youth coaches, of ensuring that all schools have spaces to play the game and, most importantly, to encourage children to see the benefits of football and the pathways that exist to make a career from the sport."

2. China at home to Laos - will be a tough game to call! (gallows humour)
4-2-3-1 formation
YANG Zhi (Beijing)
LIU Jianye (Jiangsu), DU Wei (Hangzhou), FENG Xiaoting (Guangzhou), RONG Hao (Hangzhou)
ZHANG Zhi (Guangzhou), YANG Hao (Guangzhou)
HAO Junmin (Schalke), DENG Zhuoxiang (Shandong), YU Tao (Shanghai)
G** Lin (Guangzhou)
Bench: FENG Renliang (Shanghai), QU Bo (Shaanxi), CHEN Tao (Tianjin)
Of these, LIU, DU, RONG, HAO and DENG played against NZ earlier this year.
Dunno what happened in the first 32 minutes for them to conceded 2 goals but they were pulling Laos all over the place and mixing up some nice short passing with precision long passes and some very good finishing.
G** Lin was substituted around 30 ish and his replacement (YANG Xu) scored a hattrick. HAO Junmin's first goal was a scorcher.
The 2nd round will be played on the 23rd and 28th of July, with the 15 winners joing the 5 seeded teams, Australia, Japan, South Korea, North Korea and Bahrain.
Huge spankings by Jordan over Nepal and China over Laos (biggest goal margin for coach G** Hongbo who will be replaced after the return leg on Thursday).
Singapore might struggle in the return leg against M'sia. HK will find it hard to peg back 3 goals when the host Saudi.
Do you think they can hang on when they play the return leg in a few days time?
Mind you - would rather be a Thai than a S'porean at the moment. Don't fancy their chances in Bukit Jalil...
CSL starts up again this weekend. BIG game is 2nd place Beijing heading down south to play first place high-flyers Guangzhou.
Shanghai also travel south to try and stop their slide against a Killen-less Shenzhen.
Hopefully the Southerners can stick it to those "jiao-ao de" Northerners.
