FIFA have announced nominees for Womens' Football in 2011.
Women's Ballon d'Or (Player of the Year):
Homare Sawa (Japan) - captain of Japan's World Cup winning team. Also Player of the Tournament and Golden Boot at the World Cup.
Aya Miyami (Japan) - part of Japan's winning team
Martha (Brazil) - made quarterfinals with Brazil at World Cup, won USA Women's League with Western New York Flex, World Player of the Year 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010.

Hope Solo (USA)
Alex Morgan (USA)
Sonia Bompastor (France)
Kirsten Karefregas (Germany)
Louise Nesib (France)
Lotte Chelin (Sweden)
Coach of the Year also features two Asian nominees:
Norio Sasaki of Japan and Australia's Tom Sermannee.
Sasaki won the World Cup, while Sermannee won the Asian Cup and took Australia to the quarterfinals of the World Cup.
