Asking non-football SO's to name a team

I saw a pretty funny post on Facebook or maybe Twitter with guys (and possibly girls) asking their significant others to name a team of footballers without any help or google or whatever. Maybe something amusing to play during these lean times of actual football related discussion.

Here's what my wife came up with (after telling me she knew nothing about football):
GK: Petr Cech
LB: Ashley Cole
CB: Rio Ferdinand
CB: Paul Scholes
RB: Roberto Carlos
LM: Frank Lampard
CM: David Beckham
CM: Zinedine Zidane
RM: Neymar
ST: Gareth Bale
ST: Cristiano Ronaldo

Not a bad effort, though she originally had Lionel Messi as a RB and I couldn't let that one in.

I mean, I like the premise of asking people who don't watch football to name a team, but the assumption in that thread title that women don't like football irks me greatly. Enjoying football is not limited to people don't identify as a woman, I'm sure we could do better than this in 2020. I've changed it to make it less gendered.

as long as the answers are honest and i suspect his is, then no harm

If it was a beauty forum and men/boyfriends were asked names of beauty products, then I don't think anyone would have an issue with it. Some may do well others may not

That team is bloody attacking but could beat most

Probably best you first ask the female  forum members for their view before changing

I knew this would come up and snuck in a (and girls) in the comment - but in all honestly on the thread i was reading it was 100% males that were commenting on their female partners so thats what i went for when i copied the idea. No issue with changing the thread title though.

GK: Marinovic(1)/ Kawaguchi/ Moss

CB: Durante/Taylor
FB: Nagatomo/ Hasebe
MF: Christiano Ronaldo/Miura Kazu/Pele/Cacace
Forwards: Nakata/Kagawa/Nakamura Shunsuke/Krishna

Probably a 433 I think?

There was indecision between Moss and Marinovic for number one.

Loving also the choice of Krishna to lead the line ahead of Ronaldo, C. or Pele.

This should be good - my wife is great with cricket, not so much football. Will likely end up with a lot of LFC players I'd say...let's see.

GK: Lionel Messi

RB: David Beckham

CB: Wayne Rooney

CB: Cristiano Ronaldo

LB: Jurgen Klopp

RM: Sweet Jesus

CM: Godric Gryffindor

CM: Pele

LM: Nick Farr-Jones...nope, he's a horse...no, that's Phar Lap. He's a rugby player.

ST: Peter Dinklage (she meant Peter Crouch which is a massive opposite)

ST: Gary Lineker

Nope. Total disaster.

...be nice to find one thread that doesn't turn into a pissing competition about two irrelevant teams on the opposite side of the planet, but I guess wishful thinking.
