for people watching, how would the AWs go against Qatar?  Aussie must be odds on to be top 2 now

All whites vs Qatar - fair match I would think - we just need to be smarter on the ball (at all levels - but thats another story)....Qatar reminded me of when we had to qualify in 82 from NZ to Timbucktoo - while techincally they were alright, guts and determination will always lift us another notch - but having said that, its about time we were above the guts and determination - I hate to say it but if we were to play Aus at this stage, we would probably be on the end of a similar or worse scoreline - they were that good...

Anyway, Qatar attempted but failed to be physical and on top of the Aussies - they were just class from 1 to 11 and still had depth on the bench too. The Aussies touches and passing was superb and at times made it look like a training run with the possesion they held and the finishing...you can see why Emerton and Cahill are playing top flight. The overseas Aussies were simply class and it seems like Asia is defeintly paying off for them e.g. look at how well Adelaide are doing as well.

For mine, I thought the Aussies were absolute class. The Qatar team didn't live up to the hype that was surrounding them, and Quintana was OK but not the messiah he was made out to be. Possibly he wasn't helped by the fact he was isolated for most of the night. Qatar seemed particularily bad in the air, and seemed to give up trying after about half an hour.

I think the All Whites would put up a good contest against Qatar, but with a full strength team (and with the first choice keeper), they would probably just pip us. Take out the Qatari imports, and we win 5-0.
