Easy wins should be availalble - but won't be good financially for the FFA.

Similar to the All Whites playing Pacific Island countries.

Jordan the pick of a weak bunch (FIFA ranking 103)

Tajikistan  = 143

Kyrgyzstan = 153

Bangladesh = 167

The major difference is that Australians will support their national teams better than we do, so although they will not get 500000, one would expect at least half of that.

Perth always gets screwed but that game is at NIB Stadium. Things should  change when they get their new stadium even though it probably won't be a great place for football.

Aussie start their World Cup Qualifying campaign with a 2-1 win away at Kyrgyzstan. Burns started on the right wing.

In other AFC WCQ news, Japan drew 0-0 with Singapore at home!

That is a very good croud given the price and opposition, tho I did have it pointed out on Twitter that Perth people are used to paying high prices for things.

At least we made it out of the group stage. Sure, we did it illegally. But...

Big win for the Matildas last night as they waltzed to 3-1 win over Japan, in Osaka, in first match of 6 nation Olympic qualifying tournament.

Match was on FTA (free to air). Rated 127K on Channel 7 Mate (really, cobber!) with a peak audience of 331K. Good figures for a football match on a Monday night.

I know the change in thread title is a piss-take, but do we really need to add to a multinational fossil fuel company's branded presence, here? (unless of course they're making a financial or in-kind contribution to YF, in which case our high morals go out the window, lol). Just rename it Killing the Planet Co. Socceroos.

FIFA directive to have shorts and shirts the same colour - one team dark, one team light. Their thinking is that it makes it easier for the refs.
