Perhaps you should look at the big picture. Almost all the players were from the A league so when we play Oz in May, don't expect anywhere the same side. As for Tommy Orr, I think that you are underating him. He is only 18 years old. This guy will be a great player in the years to come.
Have we got this talent?
As for Verbeek, as a coach at this level the only thing that counts are results.
Just watch the game in May.
Quite right - its a results based job description that Verbeek has, but seriously they are a dire outfight to watch - even WITH their superstars. What many even here (oz) have overlooked is that this is an aging team and there's not a lot coming through the next generation.
Viduka has as good as called it quits, Kewell Bresciano Culina Emerton are on their last legs.... all great players in past years
Aside from Cahill & Schwarzer and maybe Carle ( who i think is quality but many others appear not to!) the Australian side is solid but lacking. They have a real lack of striker, so much so that Kewell is tipped to play the lone striker role since Scott MacDonald and Josh Kennedy seem unable to score.....
They are a team who rarely concede...but they dont score many either.
