I think you are right but the fact is that as much as I love the A league( and standards have improved) players at this level do not have a chance at the World Cup, because the standards are poles apart.

If anyone cares, Kewell has left the roos' first  training session in SA for further treatment to his groin....

Kewell.  Possibly the most over-rated player in their squad.

I have seen some pretty ignorant threads before but your comment takes the cake.
He played over 180 games for Leeeds when they were in the Premier League, over 90 games for Liverpool and scored around 80 goals between the two clubs. He has a Champions League medal, an FA Cup medal and has been Oceania Footballer of the year 3 times, plus many more honours.
He sure is overated.
Since he left Leeds he has been injury prone and it is a shame because he is truely a gifted player.

I don't disagree with your assessment of Kewell as over rated.

What Leggy says is correct  - he has been a great player - his ability was not in question. BUT he is now past his best IMO. He is consistently affected by injury these days. He is seen as some sort of saviour for Australia but his best years are behind him.

Looking back over his career he is one of the best Australia have ever produced. However as a player for the world cup in 2010..... i reckon he is over rated.

He's never quite been the same since he left Leeds!

Australia 1-0 Denmark.  Josh Kennedy scored midway through second half.  Good result for them.

This settles it. Australia is the clear favourite to win the World Cup now. Anyone who can't see it is an idiot.

But if you take their GDP and divide by the number of brain cells in the squad and then shove it up their Joey Pouch, they'll only get as far as round 2 where they'll exit because a dingo will eat their boots.

Okay result, f**king dreadful game.

Denmark couldn't finish a cheese sandwich and Australia playing 1 up front who was at times behind the ball as well. 

Like against us they looked better when they bought the fringe players on and Grella again lucky not to be sent as he kicked everything on the park.

Goal was even pretty average.

Only because Bendtner wasn't playing imo.

Will be interesting to see how far they go. Maybe they will surprise again. 

They continue to get the results in their favour, isnt that what you ask of any team.

A lot will depend on whether they can get Kewell and Emerton on the park. Fit, these two will be dangerous; without them no amount of lobbed ball forward to Jesus will get Oz out of their group.

Just get a tad annoyed when I get people telling me how good the Socceroos are...when they're not really(speaking in global terms really).

I supported Australia whole heartedly at the last tournament and they would have been my 2nd team at this one. But then they performend like they did against us and now I hope all of them get injured and they score 0 goals conceed many more and are on the first flight out.
