After our failure to make the world cup, i feel That me, as well as many others need a new team to support. I know many people support England ( the motherland ), Spain ( the champions or because of those cheating Koreans), Australia (although most might not be keen to admit it) and some other countries thrown in there too. e.g. Netherlands ( who couldn't like them)

But i think it is time for a change

Lets join the mighty Costa Ricans (had to search if the spelling was correct)

Reasons for:

Carlos

Kenny

They are at the world cup

Play an attractive style ( i think.. havent seen too many games yet)

Could be a surprise team

Reasons against

They arnt the all whites

They could be percieved as taking our place.

they wont win

Couldn't find a real hot girl to try and convince you as a positive

A tough argument i hear you say, but lets get behind these lads from Costa Rica and let Kenny and Carlos know we are with them in their goal to be world champs

Not certain that Kenny and Carlos will be in the squad.

not a bad reason when you really think about it.

Spain v Korea at 2003 World Cup where the ref cheated and dissalowed several legitimate goals for Spain. You don't remember? Later the ref came out ad admired it I believe. Or was fired and never heard of again

I don't remember a 2003 World Cup.

2002 world cup vs spain.

Egyptian Referee. Disallowed 2 goals.

There was also controversy in the Italy game too. The referee also later got suspended for other incidents. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20060624162255AAEx7cY

The refereeing in that world cup was a shambles. FIFA decided referees panel should be multinational, and as such a bunch of below par referees were promoted.

Still cannot see where Korea have cheated.

They cheated because they scored more goals. Especially Ahn Jung-hwan against Italy.

I'll go for Costa Rica, I think they are lovely people, at least the ones I met.

I'll just go for England, cause they speak the same language (well almost) and are friendly. ( most of them )   :)

If Kenny plays at the World Cup and has a few good performances we might be able to cash in on some post-World Cup hype and sell him on for a bit of cash. Not that I want him gone but I think Welnix would be happy to turn a profit on a player. Carlos is probably too old for anyone to want to buy him I think though.

Costa Rican Under-20 rep Joel Campbell scores 2nd unanswered goal for Olympiakos v Man U in Euro Cup.

I'll take my chance because luck is on my side or something...

Her name is Rio, she don't need to understand...

Oh Rio, Rio, hear them shout across the land..."

Neither Kenny nor Carlos from the Nix called up for Costa Rica's friendly v Paraguay mid-week - looks like the manager is looking at other players for the World Cup. But he says this is not necessarily his final squad. Has called up four midfielders playing in Scandinavia plus Bryan Ruiz (PSV Eindhoven, on loan from Fulham) and that Joel Campbell, the Red Devil destroyer mentioned in above post:

http://www.concacaf.com/article/ruiz-named-to-costa-rica-roster

"Undoubtedly, this list does not represent what the complete call to World Cup will be, but we are looking at a few alternatives,” said Pinto.  “Similarly we want to continue the process with some players, but this does not mean that they have a fixed place at the World Cup.”
