International players' union Fifpro wants to abolish the transfer-fee and agent system:

They say that banning transfer fees will take power away from big clubs but nowhere do they explain how. If anything, won't that increase the advantage of big clubs because the can offer players higher wages and the small clubs won't even get any compensation?

I admire the desire to tackle agents and the insanity of the transfer market, but I don't think this is the way.

UEFA-wide (or even FIFA-wide) salary caps and transfer fees worked out as a set multiplier of the player's salary would be a better idea IMO.
