Germany should have this. I'll be watching with a couple of german mates + a couple of pom mates at four kings, should be interesting.

Fuck this stupid game

Hope England win this. Will be interesting to see if they fire... and whether Germany are as good as the aussie game suggested.

Don't mention the 20 world cups and euro championships since 1968.

19-1 to Germany (mentioned it once, but think I got away with it).

Could go either way this one.

Big question: Is England a sleeping giant, or just the usual pre-tournament hype? Rooney very close to the trailer park, so this may be now or never for him.

Edit: I was being mean. Actually 18-2. England finished ahead of Germany in Group stage in Euro 2000 (both eliminated though). The only time England has progressed further than Germany was in 2004, when England made QFs (Germany eliminated at group stage).Turfmoore2010-06-27 20:05:04

I know, I know, its serious!

This world cup has been very similar to the war though;
the french have surrendered, Germany and England are at it and the USA left it to the very last minute to get involved

Thank you for 1) not getting the Fawlty Towers reference and 2) being the 100,000th person to regurgitate that joke.

    - Germany have the best penalty shootout record in World Cups.
    - England have the worst penalty shootout record in World Cups.
    - Stats mean absolutely nothing on days like today.

That's come heavily stacked history to go up against

Classic route one that.Terry and Upson can't be happy with how they dealt with that.

2-0, great finish

england are just sitting too defensively, and rooney has been godawful.

James just denies klose.

Then podolski, muller and klose link up, beautiful. 2zip. Lovely shot from no angle.

Wow. That was a shocker. Fifa has dropped the ball denying video or goal line refs.

This is a fantastic game!

if england blame the ball and/or altitude foe the result/their passing they can shove it. Their passing has been so far off thus far.

As I say that upson scores off a gorgeous stevie g ball.

And wtf!!! 66 in reverse as lamps scores but it's not given. Farken!

I love the obvious 1966 comparisons!

methinks if england don't win this the ref may need 24 7 protection from england fans while in SA.
