both islands are geographical ioslated

with limited world class players like Guojohnsen, Ryan Nelsen.....

no local professional leagues

are they similar?

Only barely though.

Iceland have more players playing in better leagues, and they're also helped by the fact that football is a much more closely followed sport over there than it is here.

Would be a good match if it happened.
 
Iceland would be more superior(sp) with more Euro games and players in high-standard leagues.
