Gday folks, sorry about the spam.

My names Michael Oliver and I am a staff writer with 3 Sport.

I just wanted to let you guys know of an internship opportunity for a football-mad (or sports mad) fan, keen on getting into journalism.

Were on the look out for an intern to join the 3 Sport online team in Auckland. Youll be writing live updates of EPL matches over Saturday night/Sunday morning, as well as editing and uploading video of the matches as you go.

Primarily, youll be a journalism student, or someone keen on getting into the industry. But importantly, youll love football, and be keen do work overnight on a Saturday.

Its unpaid, but I started out doing this sort of thing, and I landed a job at the end of it. In fact, there hasnt been a single 3 News intern who hasnt been offered a job at the end of their internship.

So if you love EPL, want to get into journalism, and want the opportunity of working for a national news organisation (and dont mind working strange hours for free), flick me an email at moliver@mediaworks.co.nz, or Greg Robertson at grobertson@mediaworks.co.nz with a cover letter, CV, and a writing sample.

Again, apologies for the spam, but were dead keen on someone who loves football, and I knew this would be the best place to come searching.

Cheers,

Michael

I was going to suggest Andrew Gourdie, but then I saw this.

He's more a cricket guy.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Here's how I would report on the results last weekend:

English Premier League results for round 13:

Inbred Brummies (not the blue or claret ones) 1 - Super Tottenham from the Lane 3. Yes 3!! Away. 'Triffic!

Fergie's lot 1 - The plucky Geordie lads from the North East 1. Reet canny that.

Gooner Scum 1 - Foolham 1 (ha ha ha ha ha)

Mackems 1 - Wigan - yes Wigan 2 (rofl, lmao, lol-city, wheeze keys are these? etc etc etc)

'Boro - oh hang on this is the EPL.

Plus some other scores by a bunch of other teams that are there to make up the numbers.

Of course you do realise that if Spurs or Toon don't get the result I won't report that? In previous seasons this would have been most weekends.

I would be keen but my thoughts from around 3am on a sunday would be mostly inappropriate. Interesting but inappropriate.

Fuck this stupid game

This is TV3 - inappropriate is quite appropriate (which is good. Unless it's Paul Henry).

meet/mēt/
Verb: Come into the presence or company of (someone) by chance or arrangement: "we met for lunch".

I do not think this is the verb you were looking for.

If the 3 News newsroom is in Auckland then I'm sure you'll find something but they won't make a decision until the 11th hour and then you'll have a rush of people all wanting to do the job and angry that there is now a queue.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

EPL preview
This weekend Hot Shot Tottenham take on the rabble with discipline problems who also have the temerity to wear white (Bolton). After a warm-up game against a Greek outfit midweek, the lilywhites will give the wanderers (not the Woolwich ones) a trouncing - 5 goals at least, 6 or 7 if Lennon can remember to cross.

Further Norf, the mighty Magpies take on the Blue Prawn Sandwich brigade. Of course the Russian club will lose - it always struggles against French flair. They might also start late as Chelski lose their way trying to look for ST JAMES' PARK (but ending up at a Sportsdirect distribution centre).

F*ck the rest.

You forgot the north London pretenders to get dicked by lowly Wigan.
