word has it that Totti will be making the squad, Italian news report. Also, if he keeps up this year's average (something like 18 goals in 20 games), he might even get to start a couple of games!

Anyone else here of Italian heritage/support Italy? I will be supporting them as my second team after New Zealand, of course.

Either go back to back, or blow it by 2nd round, could go either way.

Loving the optimism there DS. Or well, half optimism. Anyone else see 'The Contenders' focussed on Italy? Key players are Buffon and Gilardino. Although I am a Gila-maniac, I was very surprised. Though his recent from has been very good.

A very weak group of strikers. The only strengths they have in the team is Buffon and the midfield and that's only because of De Rossi and Pirlo the rest are mediocre

mmm... i think that if we will arrive at quarter-finals it will be a great success...
don't overcome the group is something that can't be taken in consideration... it will be a national tragedy

can't have a decent side with only one Roma player, simple as that

Like it if Italy play Argentina.  Then you could hope to see a Buffoon get Messi with Totti.

Does anyone know why Iaquinta was pointing at his nose when he scored that penalty?

So they could do the vuvuzela goal celebration.

Is there a pun or a play on words there? Haha.
Was it a more subtle version of Robbie Folwers sniffing the goal line celebration?

No, he was asking De Rossi to blow his nose vuvuzela-stylez.

Looked pretty stupid to be honest.

Ohhhhhhhhhh sorry yes, I see. Yes it did look dumb... I hope that wasn't organised prior, surely they can come up with better.
Speaking of celebrations I thought the All Whites had someting lined up for the next time they scored but they didn't do anything again (except for celebrate normally).
