Waste of possession. As I type this a Cameroon strike from way out rattles the post.

i think this is the case
i haven't seen the ball do that much
it moves further but apart from that...

1-0 to japan great result for them

japan is a decent team, and have actually never lost to Cameroon
i know their results have been average of late, but so had Cameroon's
also a little infighting in Cameroon squad i believe

Congrats Japan for the 1-0 win. Lucky they hold out in the second half. Great reaction save at the death by their keeper. They were getting body and ankle taps from Cameroon as they gain possession throughout the entire half. At the end, Japan were doing it back on the Cameroon to run down the clock.

Cameroon came late with the crosses. Should have done more crosses at the beginning rather than try to punch a hole in the centre with fewer players in the box most of the time. Should have mixed it up between the wide and central attacks to try and get to the last third of the pitch. They didn't really fully use their physical statue until half way through the second half. Too little too late. Two notable shots at the end by Cameroon. A 25 metre shot off the crossbar near the keepers top left corner was thunderous, but no cigars and a cross that created a low volley that made the Japanese keeper to pull a reaction save.

Not sure who really deserve it by merit, it was a bit messy and stop and starts because of the delayed fouls in the possession turnover. But Japan has their first win away from home soil in their fourth WC in a row. Must be a bit positive for them.AllWhitebelievr2010-06-15 04:10:48

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Good win for Japan, was picking a draw, good to see the Asian teams doing well (except Australia ).

Good to see Honda score have liked his game since I wached a VVV match, but heaps of ridiculous headlines to do with driving and cars.

Has anyone seen a free kick actually hit the target/look like going in yet? I haven't. Think that points to the fact the ball is a bit hard to keep down when attempting long range shots.

I think Japan deserved the win, were in control for most of the game - apart from closing 10 minutes or so.

Honda played real class, holding the ball, making some crucial passess and of course, scoring the winner. Seems like a move from Russian league after World Cup.
