That is just going to get messy!  Can you imagine heaps of people all trying to play Championship Manager with a real club.  It is going to be impossible.

Brilliant idea!

From an ownership point of view it's nothing new. They're effectively just selling shares in a football club. Some disgruntled Manchester United fans have already done this on a smaller scale with FC United of Manchester (FCUM) in the Unibond league. This is also similar to what was originally touted for financing the Phoenix i.e. many small shareholders.

Making decisions by democratic vote is a bit of a stretch. But from a fan's point of view is it any stranger than putting all your faith in some mad ex-player? Will the decisions made really be that different?

Great experiment - will be interesting to see if it really happens.

Interesting but not new

If you have a club you support in the UK its likely they have a supporters trust which is similar to this I'm a member of ArabTrust - the Dundee United Supporters trust which costs me 15 a year. Arabtrust is the 2nd largest shareholder in DUFC and we have about 300 members we get a rep on the board of directore (as well as 3 directors being members of the trust)

Its the way to go, Barcelona and Real Madrid are owned by their members which is ultimately where they are going with the supporters trust idea

Don't think I'd be that happy if this lot bought my club but if they manage to get Leeds I'd have a good laugh

Same with Thistle. Members of the Jags Trust are part owners of a million shares and we have a rep on the Board of the Club.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I've paid up, cost me just under $100.  I'm hoping for Accrington Stanley for no other reason than I like the sound of the name.  I stopped following British footie awhile back, ever since the beautiful game turned into the corrupt game, not that long after the EU rules outlawed restricting "foreign" players and big money stepped in.  Thus the attraction of the A-league, at least for the near future.
