I saw most of Denmark vs Iraq this morning. Very dull game played in front of maybe a thousand people by the looks of it
Honduras vs Algeria was a lot of fun, fast and full of chances, 3-2 to Honduras....Brazil and South Africa drew 0-0, Brazil living on past glories it seems, Neymar easily shut down by South Africa who played with 10 players for last 30 mins, Mexico and Germany just finished at 2-2, another good game...just waiting now for the big game of the day...Fiji vs South Korea ?
Gutted I'll be at work for the Fiji game. Really wanted to see how Roy goes
Fiji paying 140-1 on betfair before the game starts.. and described as a 'warmup game' by the Korea coach!
The football crowds have been absolutely pitiful given how football is religion in Brazil. Tickets too expensive, people protesting or simply don't give a s**t?
Roy and Fiji playing alright so far, 0-0 after 20.
5 mins in, still 0-0.

All of the above I'd say, but I think part of it is that Olympic football isn't considered very important to the big nations. I asked my Argentinian friend this morn if he was watching the game (they were playing Portugal) and he said 'what game?'.. whereas when the World Cup or Copa America is on he is right into it.
5 mins in, still 0-0.

Plastic fan then! ;-)
Anyone got a link to text updates?
South Korea 1-0 after 33.
Korea just score 1-0 at the 31 minute mark. Taminisu is having a blinder in goal, Hughes on the right wing has skinned the Koreans a few times too. Fiji actually looking better then we have in some previous Olympic games.
At work so a stream isn't an option:(

South Korea just missed a penalty.
fiji just given a penalty away, rash tackle from behind... missed, hit the post but Taminisu had it covered.
1-0 at half time to South Korea. Decent from Fiji. Just about no play acting (none at all from Fiji), ref doing well, hardly notice him, no bad calls.
I'm liking the Fiji kit as well, some nice native designs on the shoulders...maybe NZ can get some ideas from it instead of a plain shirt from the Warehouse ?
60 min in still 1-0
3-0. Two goals in a minute. Breakaway from the kick off pretty much.
4-0. Three in 2 two minutes
5-0. Penalty
7-0 90th minute. Poor second half.
8-0 in injury time

Fudge Korea! What about the Olympic Spirit? Even Germany let Brasil score two years ago.
Nigeria v Japan is great stuff

No idea about Tahiti. I guess no one thinks Fiji is good team. I hope they give their best, play as good as they can with guts. It is a big stage and in this case it's not all about winning.
Honduras knocked Argentina out
Pressure on Brazil, Iraq and SA doing their bit.
After 206 minutes of Olympic football Brazil finally score. Leading 1–0 vs Denmark. South Africa and Iraq are currently drawing 1–1. It's the 36th minute in both matches. If results stand Brazil and Denmark would qualify as first and second, respectively.
Brazil end up defeating Denmark 4–0 despite the Danish leading the group before the beginning of the day. However they still qualify for the next stage along with Brazil as neither South Africa or Iraq were able to win—if either had won they'd have been through to the next round but their game ended 1–1.
Quarter-finals:
Iraq had so many chances to win, they hit the post 3-4 times....should have won which would have put them throu

That result smells of Argentina 6 Peru 0 at the 1978 World Cup.
Any standouts from the Olympics? Serge Gnarbry of Germany and Kwon Chang-Hoon of Korea have caught my eye so far
So glad they lost. Go Sweden!
