James Dean and I are also in on the Panini fun this year.  In this lunchhour JD has gotten 4 shinies (and is very happy) while I entered Masato Morishige in my book a bit crooked and am distraught.

This is my stats for filling the real book:

Three other guys I work with are doing this, and this morning we were all between 65% and 75% complete.  Due to being bored, we all chipped in and bought a box of 100 packets this afternoon.  I have now finished my first team (Ghana - bringing up memories of being with their fans in Rustenburg when they beat Aussie).

We now have about 1 million swapsies (1 guy opened 25 packets and only got 15 new stickers *facepalm*)

I've still got 370 to go (but there are about 50 on their way to me in the mail via a trading site, which will take me to the halfway mark). Only got eight doubles due to said trading...

Finished the online one. Haven't seen the real ones around actually

I see you are into completing the book...I am keen to organise a live swap of stickers somewhere in town...do you think this would work? This is how it's done in South America :)

Was at the pub last night with some work colleagues and the wife came down for a drink.  I went to the bar to get some more drinks and when I came back, one of the guys just says "sorry" to me.  Turns out that they had started talking about how much the sticker album costs to complete, which was a slightly different amount of money to what I had told her it had cost.  I just said that I would wear my sticker album more often than she would wear some of the pairs of shoes she owns, and the album was still cheaper. I was all like

I have got a spare Yobo if you still need him.

I'm down to less than 100 to go, desperately trying to finish it before the final.

One of my happiest memories ever,  as kid in Italy, buying packets of Panini stickers at the newsagent on the way to school.  And then swapping them with my mates.  I had a huge wooden box full of them, and several of my 'idols' were attached to inside of my closet.  Oh those were the days.

I remember me and my mates roaming the streets looking for other kids to swap spares with. The last sticker I needed for Italia 1990 album was the Uruguay badge, and I think I ended up swapping for it in a very one-sided trade in basically the other end of town.

My old man used to drive trucks in the UK after the ferries went on strike in the late 80s. The truck used to ferry Panini sticker boxes all over the show and then remove waste paper. Needless to say that more than a few boxes of stickers fell off the back of that lorry for me to enjoy.
