Should you blame an offside player?

It might be frustrating when it gets called, but it doesn't seem fair to me to blame an attacker for being offside.

Is it fair to expect the attacker to know their position in relation to the defensive line?

I don't think anyone ever blames a player.

But yes, it is a players responsibility to be in an onside position. So it is their 'fault' that they're offside I suppose.

Allegedly

If they keep doing it then yes it is fair. It's not too hard to look down the line and see if you are on or not.

Three for me, and two for them.

Depends on the situation.  A striker making a run and the pass getting released slightly late no, a winger stationary looking across the line of the backs yes.

Ask Brockie.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid
