definately a must for anyone who remembers (even vaguely) 70's british football

probably a must for anyone with an interest in the british game

possibly a must-ish for football fans in general

The books isn't supposed to be fact - it's a fictionalised account of real life eventsjames dean2009-10-28 01:39:56

the book is excellent, so (as is always the case) the film was a bit disappointing.  The book never claims to be anything but a fictionalised account.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Have you read the book? How does it compare?

I havent read the book but hope to get it for Xmas.

I ended up seeing the film twice .. other half had missed it the first time .. thought it was great 2nd time round as well. I dont think it ever pretended to be anything other than 'faction' ... what it did was create the essence of the times and the peoples.

That wa summed up in the way it merged the actuality and the dramatisation .. actually, last weekend I really felt like Clough .. so nervous, wasnt sure if I could  bear to watch the game.

But boy I am so glad I overcame the paranoia ...

Just seen it. Thought it was great, although my knowledge of Clough isn't great. Really enjoyed it, nonetheless.

Just finished reading a book called "Provided you don't kiss me: 20 years with Brian Clough" Written by a guy who was the football writer at the Nottingham Evening Post, great book! Fascinating for someone who knows jack all about Football prior to the 90s and can't remember any of it.

Picked it up from Borders.
