How about a feature on the site based on teams who play in 'our' colours?

Recommendations encouraged on the forum for clubs far and wide, irrespective of league status
This idea is unashamedly 'knicked ' from nufc.com (unofficial Toon fan website) and probably many other fan pages

My recommendation Hebburn Town, Durham, England : http://www.hebburntownfc.co.uk/club-info/
My connection to this club is that my Dad travelled across Newcastle for many years to work at Reyrolles,Hebburn, a company which was instrumental in the development of the club and the foundation of the current stadium, home to Hebburn Town

Although not stripey the Dagestan football team in the Russian premier league plays in yellow and black (and a really ugly gradient green sometimes), I went travelling in the Caucasus briefly but didn't watch any football in that part of Russia.

Ventspills FC in Latvia play in a yellow and an almost black navy blue stripey, although I support FC Daugava from Daugavpills.

Do Liverpool play in yellow and black? Been offered a blanket and wondering if I could get away with bringing it to phoenix games.

Allegedly

Well that's a multi-layered argument and you almost got me to bite :-)
The spirit of the new season has encouraged a positive response. If you think that playing in a yellow and black blanket strip would make Liverpool a better football team then bring it to every game

Great! :-)
A personal reason for suggesting a club and a link to the club's website and/or team colours will add to the discussion

Your evocative and emotional description of some Irish team you played in the Sunday league that time, perhaps a time a long, long time ago from a place far, far away, provides an insightful and inspirational explanation of the spread of some undefined game you were playing. Perhaps the goalposts were made from yellow and black jumpers.

AD Fafe (Associação Desportiva de Fafe)

A Portuguese Club currently in the third level of their league structure, I originally played as then in FM09, but since have started following them in Real Life. I have a shirt which I organised in a badly translated conversation with their marketing manager. If I ever get to Portugal I would love to go and see them play some lower league football. (Though battling for promotion this season, it is still VERY tough to get promoted from the lower divisions in Portugal, 80 clubs compete for just 3 Promotion spots (They currently lead the first phase after 5 of 18 games), 8 Groups of ten with the Top 2 going to promotion stage, which has 2 groups of 8, winner of each group promoted and the second placed teams playing off for the final spot.

It was at a time in the recent mythical past when I was less of a fat bastard. Actually might have been a cup game

The mighty Motueka AFC, where I had my brief and forgettable youth playing career, and spent most of my first two years as a referee.

Famous for turning up on a flag at the 2010 World Cup - unfortunately not waved by me.

You weren't in Paris during the Confed Cup when we Kiwis used to meet up at the Guinness Bar on the Left Bank by any chance?

Not me - that's not me in picture above though, just one of my former teammates. He might have been, for all I know.

The guy in Paris who was from Motueka was maybe in his thirties & big & beefy with a beard and lots of wild hair. Think he might follow the All Whites everywhere.
