Some of those barely qualify as surprises, let alone shocks (Argentina v Italy especially, and also Ireland v Italy, Spain v Denmark, and Bulgaria v Germany to an extent), yet no mention of an actual shock - first African win at the World Cup when Algeria beat the eventual runners-up West Germany 2-1 in Spain in 1982.

Still gotta be England v USA 1950:how could a team with Finney,Mannion,Wright, mortensen,Ramsey,Williams lose;one of life's eternal mysteries...
One of the yank players got asked years later,if they had played 100 times, how many would England have won.The yank said "99"...hahaha
I remember Algeria beating West Germany being a big shock too, although the North Koreans beating Italy takes some beating(they won pretty easily too)

Oh, I agree the USA v England was the biggest shock, but I was just stunned she'd have an Argentina v Italy semi in there, while not even mentioning the Algeria v West Germany game. I mean, you don't even need to know much about football to include that one.

yeah a naff list:I automatically assumed that the north korea/Italy would be very high on the list, but no,apparently the minnows of Argentina "shocking" Italy is far greater...sheesh...
