Hey guys!, just letting all of you know that theres a guy on Trademe who has bought out ALL the Knights apparel from the club, he has FULL player kitts as well as t-shirts, caps and jackets etc at dirt cheap prices, i personally have just bought Gao Leilei's full kit, complete with Home jersey with "Gao 31" on the back, home shorts with "31" on them, a pair of home Knights socks, and a Knights cap for $79 "BUY NOW"

They're goin like hotcakes, and i'll give you an insiders tip..... in the next week he is going to auction of "Che Bunce" and "Noah Hickey" Kits, i asked about Jeremy Christie's and he said he would get back to me on that as he wants to keep it! lol. rightfully so :)

Here's a link if you cant find the gear: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/SearchResults.aspx?searchType=all&searchString=football+knights&x=0&y=0&searchRegion=100&type=Search

He's been flogging that stuff off for ages. He seems to have picked up everything they had, I wouldn't be surprised to see him offering North Harbour Stadium for sale in the next couple of weeks!
Mind you I did buy a white top off him, so I can't complain.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Bit of memorabilia of footie in NZ. Don't often get the chance to have souvenirs of professional football teams who don't exist any more. Some of us actually saw them, you know!

Was I a fan of the Knights Danny Biggie? I wanted to be, but no, I wasn't I'm afraid. Some of us didn't waste our time joining the handful that turned up to see the Knights every week. Some of us wanted to support our professional team, but were totally unimpressed with the dated rubbish coming from them. They were 20 years behind the ball game, and although I watched every game, strangely ended up pretty happy that football finally came to Wellington instead. The Knights didn't need midfielders. Tall defenders, tall strikers, and head tennis between them. That isn't football. If you were into that, good on you. But it's not for me.

I have a draw full of their stuff already.
If you really want something to remember them by I could be persuaded to part with my number plate.

A dog with a bone :)

I won't be too critical. The Knights were after all a part of the evolution of professional  football in NZ. Besides, if you don't know the bad, you can't know the good!

i think it was probably Nevin's fault the team failed, Ricki brought them up into a fighting unit and they won quite a few games in the dying stages of the comp if i remember rightly.

I agree. I also think Adshead - once loved by all as he was - brought a very outmoded style and attitude back to the game here. That was found out pretty quickly, and his methods couldn't cut the mustard in a very skillful and competitive league. I don't think he was quite prepared for the quality of the A-League. Things obviously didn't get any better until Herbert took the helm.
