Normally I would have accepted it, since it was before the game was played, and your original post was before we knew offically the teams involved. Just in this case, it might open a pandora's box of people trying to 'park the bus' and defend leads. So better not accept it, but as you said, its a moot point now.

Even tho he was knocked out, have too mention Everton FC, his picks got  6/8 results in 90 mins, 8/8 for teams to progress, hope he backed them at the TAB.

There was 28 yellow cards, and only 1 game went to 'Extra Time', sheff's pick of 32 being closer than detoxin's 23.

I'm picking either Germany or Spain to win the cup so that the All Whites will be the only unbeaten team in this tourny.

Let's just hope Germany score in the 1st half Wolfman, then we can set up a finals date!

Actually NHpeter and I are tied at 2-2, even if Germany lead at halftime, I'll still be edgy in the second half.

Hope everyone enjoyed playing. Was thinking about using the PvP system we had in the pool stages if I ran an A-League comp, so any thoughts regarding it, and other suggestions are very welcome.

Well done NHpeter. There's something about losing to the eventual winner - a kind of "what if I'd been on the other side of the draw" thing.

A similar thing for the A-League would be great, providing you do a full league as well so that thos who get knocked out still have a comp to take part in.

Would be a full league, depending on numbers, everyone would face everyone once or twice over the course of the season. Would be over the 27 weeks of the league, so will be at least 5 games to pick each week.

The PvP system I think is more forgiving to those that miss weeks for various reasons, as the worst that happens is you fall 3 points behind, and you could have put in your tips and still got 0 points anyway.

Im just worried about the chance we might end up with alot of draws, luckily it didnt happen during the world cup. Was pondering doing something like the NHL, each person would get 1 point each for the draw, and you have a shoot out for the 3rd point. That would be yellow cards & time stamps on posts again.
