Was thinking, if there was alot interested, it would be fun to do a knock out style one, with a pool stage leading into knock outs.

Hoping by explaining my plans better, more people will post their interest. For this to work, need at least 16 people, more the better ofc.

Pool Stage:

6 People per Pool. Vacant slots will be added if needed, they will pick all the sides that are offcially the Away team.

5 Rounds in Pool Play. You face off against everyone in your pool once. 3 points for more correct tips, 1 point for equal correct tips, 0 points for less correct tips. Each round will be 3 days worth of World Cup Group Stage games.

Knock Out Stages:

Top 16 people from the group stages advance to knock out stages. (if we have 3 pools: 5 from each & 1 lucky loser, if 4 pools: top 4 from each pool, if 5 pools: top 3 & 1 lucky loser etc).

The top 16 will be seeded on how many correct tips they have, and will tip on the 2nd round of the World Cup. If people are equal on correct tips, it will go on their 'goal difference' from the pool stages.

Whoever gets the most tips correct moves on to the next round. Incase of a draw, I will get people to guess the total yellow cards they think there will be in the round, whoever is closest wins (if there is a draw on that, it will be whoever posts their picks first).

This continues till there is 1 person left standing at the end.

With the quick turn around in the pool stages, I thought it was a good way of limiting the affect of missing getting tips in. If it works well, I might use it in a comp for the A-League when it starts up.

he is a she lol & was mostly cause of the way we are picking so without someone whipping the boys along we wdn't finish till after the world cup (& us girls are way better at nagging - supposedly)

Was hoping for more people, but I am still happy to run this. Atm we have 14 people, so unless we have people take over the Vacant slots, everyone will make the 2nd round.

The rankings for the 2nd Round games, will be done on points scored in pool games, using 'Correct Tips' to separate people on the same points. That way the pool stage is still worthwhile.
