As the country counts down to the All Whites participation in the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the number of days until the 2010 FIFA World Cup adidas official match ball is unveiled also draws nearer.
On hand to help reveal the ball next Saturday (5 December) at Rebel Sport in Wellington City will be 82 Academy Director Ricki Herbert.
Any young footballer with a passion for the game is encouraged to attend the event, with members of Ricki Herbert�s 82 Academy running a �show us your tricks� competition, where one lucky participant will be awarded a scholarship to attend next year�s academy in Queenstown.
adidas marketing manager Nadia Scott said the 2010 FIFA World Cup adidas Official Match Ball is set to become a collector�s item given the All Whites entry in next year�s FIFA World Cup competition in South Africa. �New Zealand will have only 500 of the Official Match Balls in stock and as the official ball of the competition where our All Whites will compete, we are expecting huge interest from football fans around the country.
Ms Scott says the morning is expected to be a celebratory affair to �kick� the new ball into New Zealand football fans� orbit and all are welcome to join in � and be the first to see the new design.
�All are welcome to come down and be part of our celebration to unveil the new ball � be the first few in the country to see what the All Whites will play with at the FIFA World Cup next year!�
