World Cup viewing at 4 Kings

Howdy all,

4 Kings has just reopened after earthquake strengthening so now it's able to withstanding Hard News jumping up and down. Regardless, it is looking bloody pimping.

Fortunately for us football fans, they have secured the only special licence in Wellington to open for ALL 4am games. To get this licence, they've had to make a few concessions. So, in order to get in, you have to pay an event fee of $10 for a matchday or $50 for the whole tournament.  You must purchase a ticket 12 hours before the match (details to come).  The entry fee will get you some hot food and/or a non-alcoholic drink. Alcohol will be sold separately. 

For those who have to work, they'll show a replay of the 10am games after work at approximately 6pm. So pop in for a feed and some quality football.

Matty at 4kings have made a massive effort to get this happening, so make sure you get down there. 

Terms and conditions of our licence and the ticket.
1. Entry to the day’s event is by pre-purchased tickets only.
2. The sale of tickets for a particular day’s event is to conclude at 4.00 pm the previous day.
3. The price of each ticket is to include a donation to the ‘Yellow Fever Football Scholarship’ and a meal or a non-alcoholic drink upon entry.
4. A one way door policy to take effect from the end of half time, so that those ticket holders who leave the premises from th...at time will be refused re-entry.
5. Noise levels must be monitored and the directions of a Noise Control Officer must be complied with at all times.
6. The sale of passes or tickets for more than one event can be purchased at one time.
7. A maximum of two alcoholic drinks per serve per person at any one time.
8. No ‘shots’, jugs of alcohol or ‘bombs’ to be sold.
9. Only beer, wine and spirits in normal glasses or bottles to be sold.

$50 is a steal, I'm setting up camp at the Kings for the next two weeks.

Feckin council. Gone are the days when a sports bar could simply just be open to show sport without a page long list of conditions and an entry fee (which is still great value).

Not 100% clear from the OP re 4Kings.  Do you need to buy a ticket if going to the 7am match - ie pop in about 6:45?

I'm assuming not, although that's still rather early cf normal licensing hours.

only for the 4am games. Have been told that you can buy tickets up to 12 hours before the match. So Sunday 4am game you have to purchase it before 4pm Saturday.

got my ticket for first four am game (watched others at home) for this Thursday for Netherlands vs Australia match! Can't wait.

Who has been attending the 4am games? Has there been much of a crowd?

Not myself.  Think it will kick in a bit for the final group games whre two games at once becomes a challenge.
