Have you ever punched anyone on the field Frankie?
oh dear.
Newsflash: Frankie is in fact Tim Brown.
You c**t, and after I added you to FM 2008. You're dead to me.
he's the garry neville of the AW set-up, always available
Frankie Mac (and JD if he ever gets off his ass)
Not sure if the two of them deserve their own thread or just comments under the Young Players in UK thread. Decided they deserve their own one.
Frankie is coming out of retirement to play for the London Polytechnic 3rds tomorrow - away to some team in Gunnersbury. Here is a photo of him training at London beach yesterday
James Dean has stuck to his own training plan, seen here
Are there any streams of the games?
JD was going to film the game, but he lay down on the camera when it was on the couch, and now cannot find it in amongst his rolls.
Actually maybe that was a bit harsh - JD isn't fat, just incredibly lazy.
...and big boned
beautiful morning in London - perfect conditions for football.
I am actually quite excited about this. Trying to get the wife to cook me chicken and pasta for breakfast, but she told me to.......well, she said no.
what position does frankie play? (ususal to talk about these overseas players in the third person correct?) hows his recent form?
his recent form is.........heavy. First game in 16 months - in fact only time I have kicked a ball in that time was 1 game on astroturf about 3 months ago.
Usually plays in the Jonesy - the hole behind the strikers.

Get in.
Please talk us through the goal. Being the 90th minute I doubt it was a 40-yard run to get on the end of a cross?

More likely it hit his arse as he bent down to tie his laces.
it was actually a lung busting sprint from the halfway line to get on the end of a cross, but as it was only the 3rd time in the 90 minutes that I broke into more than a jog it wasn't too bad.
I was actually nadgered after 5 minutes of keep ball during the warm up. Feeling pretty sore today as well.
Didn't know you were a model Frankie.
Blessed to have such a super power on the forums.

Game this weekend is Poly 3rds vs Old Stationers - home game against.............well, I have no idea actually. I have just had a look at the table, and Poly 3rds are top of the league while Old Stationers are 4th.
Still no sign of JD........

Have you ever punched anyone on the field Frankie?
um..........no. I have never punched anyone off a field either.
I believe in non violent resolution to all problems, from one person spilling anothers pint to two people wanting possession of a football.
Fair enough. Just wondering what sort of on field temperament you had, that's all.
the same as off the field - peaceful and harmonious.
I would much rather hug than fight
I prefer thin Bhudda
oh dear.
Oh dea, oh dear.
That was horrible. I was shocking - dragged after 70 minutes in a 2-1 victory over Old Stationers. Scored the 2nd goal (free header from about 3 cms out) but pretty much lost the ball every other time I touched it. Couldn't pass, couldn't control, couldn't run - now I know what Hard News goes through everytime he laces up a pair of boots.
HN cant actually touch his toes -so has his own lacer.
been away a for a couple of weeks on holiday so first game back again today. Played for the seconds in a 2-1 loss away to Alexandre Palace. Missed about 7 decent chances but did complete a pass so a massive improvement on the last game I played.
Still no sign of James Dean.
the day after football I become a 37 year old man, who looks 36 3/4 (it is always worth splashing out on good eye cream and moisturiser) and feels 80.
I am broken.

You c**t, and after I added you to FM 2008. You're dead to me.
I still think that I got added to FM2008 due to my sparkling performances for Miramar Rangers Reserve team getting me noticed by top level english scouts.
Or cubs.
Drew 2-2 last week against a team that only had two shots all game (and one of those was going wide and deflected in). I have morphed into a Emile Heskey type centre forward - falls over a lot, never shoots, never threatens to score, etc but has a small minority of people rate him very highly (me and my mum).
Still top of the table (although after 6 straight league wins, I have come into the team for a loss and a draw) and home to another of the league favourites tomorrow. Should be a humdinger (whatever that means).
Did he play over the weekend?
He played 45 minutes and then came of with a tight hamstring (which had nothing to do with the stonking hangover or cold weather). Game finished 1-1 and with a big brawl.
Nicest moment of the day was when the brawl was kicking off all over the place (to be honest, the brawl consisted of lots of finger pointing, holding back and a few round-house kicks*, with only a small smattering of actual punches thrown) I was standing on the sideline about 10 yards away watching. A passer-by came and asked me if I played for one of the teams and I said played for the team in white. He looked at me as if to say "you should be involved" so I told him I couldn't as I had been subbed off at half time. The involvement of a number of other subs and a few supporters didn't help my arguement.
Frankie = lover
Frankie ? fighter
*yes - one of their players kept trying to kick everyone who came near him, probably not in an actual roundhouse style, but it was slightly ninja. It was actually quite funny as he was short and couldn't get his leg very high.
Is he up for selection in the All Whites for the friendlies against Japan and China?
He is not.
He is fat.
...but is he available?
I guess it depends what the dates are. I have a chocolate massage booked on a Saturday sometime soon and I would hate to miss out on that.

To prove that I am nothing like Gary Neville (apart from the inability to grow facial hair) I have come out of retirement and will be strapping on the boots again this weekend. In a strange twist of fate (and a new low in my career) the 3rd team at the Poly do not want me, so I have been moved up to the 2nds. This will mean standing round in the cold for about 70 minutes, and then getting on when the game in completely won/lost. The team is still top of the league, so the chance of getting a medal out of the season is still alive.
Played about 30 minutes at left midfield in a 4-2 win. Touched the ball about 8 times, stood on the ball about 6 times. It is crazy, but I am sure I used to be able to play football a bit, but it appears not. I am now wondering if it was actually golf or cricket I actually used to be able to play.
Standing on the ball is good, that must demonstrate to all that you have the neccessary flair and composure to compete at that level.
another 30 minutes for the 2nds and (finally) my first goal of the season for them - the all important fifth goal in a 5-0 win. That was a cup quarter final so we are still top of the league and on target for a double.
