St Mirren lose 0-1. No Greive in match day squad. Match report says he was injured. Full game Keanu Baccus.

SM started season on fire, but have really fallen away of late. Still they seem well stocked for strikers & Greive has mostly been on the pine this season. Just 2 starts from 17 games. After 12 starts from 28 games last season. His current 2 year contract extension, expires at the end of this season. So could be on the move come May next year.

Target for Auckland FC? He could consider a move home if was almost promised a starting spot in the ALM. Seems to be behind both Mata & Waine in the AWs pecking order now, and a resurgent Kosta could push him out of the next AWs squad altogether, depending on who's available.

St Mirren (5th) host runaway SPL leaders Celtic. Keanu Baccus will be with Socceroos now for the Asian Cup.

Greive on at 77 mins (0-3) in a 0-3 loss. St Mirren had their striker Olusanya shown a straight red in the first half (already 0-2), so ruining any hope they had of getting a result. No doubt he'll be suspended, so Greive might get a start when SPL resumes in a few weeks.

Hopefully he goes well there. Regular minutes and plenty of goals.

Second tier in Scotland though. That's a really poor standard.

Is it? But wouldn’t surprise if he was a target for Auckland FC. Think his days at St Mirren are numbered

Not convinced that's true at all. Maybe the promotion contenders at a push.

Great move for Grieve, needs more minutes to develop his game and progress his football, under his old boss that signed him at Mirren so he will back him. Dundee Utd could go top if they win their game in hand so could quite easily be playing Prem football next season if they maintain current form and i can see his move being made a permanent one. I don't think a return to Australasia woud be the right move and a stay in europe best.

Some one suggesting its A-League level.....comical. Gave me a good laugh to be fair.

Good move, needs to be getting that game time - More so than the 10-15-20 minute cameos he's been getting so far this season.

This move screams out that he likely won't be getting a renewed deal with St Mirren. So I guess if he does well and Dundee get promoted back to the SPL, then he might get the call to stay on longer term?

Time to make every post a winner. I still think he'd be a very good pick up for that Auckland lot.

If he bangs in goals in this loan move both Dundee Utd and Mirren will be in prem....he may get a new Mirren deal if he finds the net as rival clubs won't want to pass on form players to other clubs.  This move will only benefit Grieve providing he finds form and the back of the next otherwise he may need to get his agent onto things asap.

Seems to be high risk, high reward. If he doesn’t perform I imagine his European prospects will fade into obscurity. If he does well then hopefully he’ll be a regular in the Scottish premiership for them next year.

In terms of A-League standard, no chance. Half of the Scottish premiership wouldn’t be A-league standard either.

I was expecting more of an outraged reaction than I got for that one!

BTW @youngheart and anyone else - please remember the club is Dundee UNITED, Dundee are the wee team across the road from us (albeit in the premier div, while we are in championship!)

Wee? LOLZ.

"The average matchday attendance in the Premiership this term is 100,829, with Scotland enjoying the best gates per capita in Europe."

Hearts average 18k , Hibs and Aberdeen 17k.

Tell McGarry he's at a wee club! I won't start on their domestic and european honours not to mention some of their previous managers!

Celtic and Rangers are massive that make others seen as smaller and they are but put it into perspective.

Scotland have same issue as NZ too many clubs for size of country. But it's great for kiwis like Grieve, i wish more would follow. Maybe they will now with this Foley set up.

Grieve needs to dig in...he will reap the rewards.

Very much an additional 0 in there in the figures you’ve quoted SN…5 figure attendances just. Oh I see- 100k total for all games in Scotland. Or something.

Grieve will feel at home winning on per capita arguments!

My comment was half said in jest. Sorry for offending any non Old Firm SPL fans on here. But really the attendance stats (which is only 1 rough correlated measure of how strong a league could be) in that above link, put the non Old Firm SPL clubs around the level of L1/L2 clubs in the UK. Or yeah the ALM.

Watched the game he done ok, played quite a safe game. Probably slightly out of position but in his 70 mins he worked hard. Dundee Utd better team first half but Caly under big Dunc are hard to break down. Even second half but Dundee Utd kept at it and scored late and away from home that's a massive 3 points. Grieve clapped off by the fans so looks like they've warmed to him already.

Dundee United (1st, 48 pts) travel to Raith Rovers (2nd, 44 pts).
Only first is automatically promoted to the SPL, so a big game between the dominant 2 teams in this league, with 14 rounds left.

absolute cr*p we are trying to throw this away, only reason we are still top is Raith seem to be trying to do the same thing!

If we finish second we go into the playoffs to get promoted, probably lose on pens or something like that!
