Mamelodi Sundowns have hijacked OP move for Siyanda Ndlovu (see above). His decided to take a lot more money to sit on their bench for 2 years.

Great news for Adj. Bad news for SA football.

What the hell!

There was sad news for the rugby community on Saturday as French Pro D2 club AS Béziers Hérault confirmed the passing of former SA U18 prop Luqobo “Bibo” Makwedini.

RIP Bibo Makwedini

What is going on... First Jayden Adams and now Bibo. Cannot believe it.

Orlando Pirates 1st preseason game against the 2nd division Cordoba CF starts tomorrow at about 5am

Hopefully there will be a link on YouTube to see how Adj does as a potential starter in the new look team this season. It will be him vs Patrick Maswanganyi for the number 10 role this season.

Remember Patrick got in a few heated blows with this manager towards the end of last season and that could work in Adj favour. The pressure as always is going to be super high and the fans will take no prisoners if they see a player not meeting their irrational standards. Big season coming up, as fans want to see the "Buccaneers" go deep in the CAF Champions League. No pressure but walking the plank cannot be an option for Adj.

Cordoba CF 1 - 1 Orlando Pirates

Adj not in the match day squad or bench. A few new signings and reserves got a run in this game.

I only started watching from about the 50th minute. Cordoba looked the better side with OP looking disjointed at times. A few missed placed passes in the game from both sizes are to be expected.

OP coach having a good look at some of these young players from the reserves and those on the periphery. Young and talented but are they ready....only time will tell. Should Adj be worried? Not at all.

Pirates X: Dladla, Chabatsane, Zulu, Van Rooyen, Ndaba, Selepe, Mariko, Maswanganyi, Padime, Lungu, Mbuthuma

Subs: Chaine, Xoki, Derbyshire, Rapoo, Sebelebele, Mthiyane, Masilela, Dansin, Moremi, Ngwato, Radiopane

Orlando Pirates 2 - 1 Cadiz CF

No Adj again. Is he injured?

The Buccaneers got off to a slow start after falling behind inside the opening three minutes when Makhaula lost possession deep in their own half, which allowed Cadiz to push forward and allowed Ibon Sánchez to slip in the box unmarked and fire past Chaine.

Pirates, however, weren't behind for too long as Bafana Bafana international Tshepang Moremi skipped past one challenge on the edge of the box before rifling the ball into the top corner in the tenth minute.

Cadiz continued to dominate the possession as the half went on, but the Buccaneers did not help themselves by needlessly giving the ball away in their own half, although they were not punished by the Spanish side.

The Spanish side were a lot more dominant after the cooling break, which nearly resulted in a second goal after 33 minutes when Álvaro García was slipped down the right side, before unleashing a powerful strike that forced Chaine into a fine save.

Pirates, however, took the lead just before the break when a swift counter-attack led by Moremi ended with Daniel Mseandami sweeping home a low cross from close range.

Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou rang the changes at the start of the second half, as new signings Neo Rapoo, Bohlale Ngwato and Mthetheleli Mthiyane replaced Deon Hotto, Moremi and Makhaula while Chaine also made way for goalkeeper Siyabonga Dladla.

The second half was played in a similar fashion to the first, with Pirates looking more secure on the ball this time around and not allowing Cadiz easy entry into their 18-yard area.

PS. The highlights are on YouTube. I must say the ref was absolutely bias and allowed Cadiz to get away with ridiculous fouls.

Orlando Pirates fall 3-2 to Saudi Pro League giants Al Ittihad.

Notes:

No Adj again. He must be injured but cannot find any updates.

OP had a goal disallowed to go up 2-1 for absolutely no reason. Commentators totally bemused at the decision after highlights couldn't pick anything up.

Orlando Pirates 1-0 Las Palmas

Adj on the pine. Come in 2nd half

OP coach makes changes and brings in many of OP younger players that were at the reserves last season.

You got to admire Spanish teams, even from the 2nd division ability to keep the ball. Wonderful to watch.

FC Noem 1 - 0 Orlando Pirates

No Adj!

The Saudi side had 2 chances the whole game and scored 1. Terrible goalkeeping from Bafana no.2 Sipho Chaine who was beaten on the near post in a free kick.

OP dominated possession and scoring opportunities before and after the goal and really throughout the game. They have a big problem with their 3 strikers. They not strikers. Oops 😬

OP preseason in Spain ends. Adj has a lot of work to do convincing this coach for game time.

OP signs former Norwegian U21 striker!

Orlando Pirates Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of striker Sebastian Pedersen from Norwegian side Sogndal Fotball.

The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal, with the Club holding an option to extend for a further season.

Notes:

The Spanish preseason tour exposed a desperate need to bring in a striker onto the Buccaneers ship. Viking memes are already doing the rounds. Adj on rare occasions was used upfront, this signing will further limited those opportunities.

More bad news for Adj!

OP coach seems to prefer newly promoted (reserves), playmaker Simphiwe Masilela (21) as backup to starter "Tito" instead of Adj.

Watching highlights of OP Spain preseason tour he looked very confident against Cadiz.

Man of the match for this morning game, Cemran Dansin (21) does not look like he will stay in the PSL for long. His favourite position is next to the defensive midfielder but is so comfortable on the ball it's possible to move him into a playmaker role if need be. He won the "goal of the season" award for last season against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Adj needs to be patient and take his opportunities.

AmaZulu 1 - 1 Orlando Pirates

No Adj!

The Buccaneers should have scored 5 goals in the 1st alone in this game. Absolutely useless in front of goal.

AmaZulu were denied a legitimate goal but it was waved offside. VAR still not available in the PSL. It's there, all bought for but the Referees have not been adequately trained on it.

This sums up the massive tensions between SAFA vs PSL progressive club owners (well some of them) 😂 Elections will be held soon with Amazulu owner looking to topple the corrupt, accused rapist SAFA president who is looking for a 3rd term. What a soapie....all drama 😂

Anyways, back to the footie....AmaZulu awarded a stoned cold penalty and a draw it remained. The strikers are in big trouble with the gaffer and the fans are praying that the new Viking striker stops the rot and keep the ship afloat.

Opportunity for Adj? We will see

Orlando Pirates 3 - 0 Chippa United

Adj not in the squad for today.

The coach prefers "Tito" Maswanganyi to start with newly promoted(reserves), 21 year old Masilela as backup instead of Adj. Opportunities will come once the Champions League starts but not for now.

The Buccaneers, Moroccan coach has made comments that a squad of about 40 players is just to big for him to manager. He says 30 is just about right for him. That could be a problem for Adj.

News coming out of the Buccaneers, Adj has a quad strain injury. Not sure how long it will keep him out of training.
