Orlando Pirates 2 - 1 Cadiz CF
No Adj again. Is he injured?
The Buccaneers got off to a slow start after falling behind inside the opening three minutes when Makhaula lost possession deep in their own half, which allowed Cadiz to push forward and allowed Ibon Sánchez to slip in the box unmarked and fire past Chaine.
Pirates, however, weren't behind for too long as Bafana Bafana international Tshepang Moremi skipped past one challenge on the edge of the box before rifling the ball into the top corner in the tenth minute.
Cadiz continued to dominate the possession as the half went on, but the Buccaneers did not help themselves by needlessly giving the ball away in their own half, although they were not punished by the Spanish side.
The Spanish side were a lot more dominant after the cooling break, which nearly resulted in a second goal after 33 minutes when Álvaro García was slipped down the right side, before unleashing a powerful strike that forced Chaine into a fine save.
Pirates, however, took the lead just before the break when a swift counter-attack led by Moremi ended with Daniel Mseandami sweeping home a low cross from close range.
Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou rang the changes at the start of the second half, as new signings Neo Rapoo, Bohlale Ngwato and Mthetheleli Mthiyane replaced Deon Hotto, Moremi and Makhaula while Chaine also made way for goalkeeper Siyabonga Dladla.
The second half was played in a similar fashion to the first, with Pirates looking more secure on the ball this time around and not allowing Cadiz easy entry into their 18-yard area.
PS. The highlights are on YouTube. I must say the ref was absolutely bias and allowed Cadiz to get away with ridiculous fouls.
