He'll be lucky to make an appearance unless one of the other CBs are injured or sent off. Perhaps if we're winning late on Ricki will bring him on to hold of Bahrain in the second leg.

Not even on the bench for today s game. I won't be surprised if he is waived or dealt before the end of the season becaause he hasn't played any minute in the MLS this season

Boyens shirts are more and more in demand after the good performance of the kiwis at the WC:

Could be a cheap replacement for McKain if he's not playing in the MLS - gets to work with Ricki more closely too.

Sounds like I got mine just in time then! I got the alternate shirt, it looks a lot better than the home as its more the colour of a red bull can (blue).

Pretty cool for him being at the same club as Henry.

The Herald today had a pull out magazine called "The Red Bulletin" and there is a story about Mr Boyens.

And now Marquez is in he slips further down the pecking order.

Maybe Gavin Wilkinson will pick him up for the Timber's in their supplementary draft for the next MLS season.

New York v Chicago on ESPN Monday 4.30pm (delayed)
Will see Rafa Marquez's debut (just signed from Barcelona). NY now the glamour side in MLS.
At least Boyens is training with great players such as fellow defender Marquez which might help lift his game, with Thierry Henry and Juan-Pablo Angel also at the club.
Anyway, be interesting to see if Boyens makes the bench on Monday.
NY second in Eastern Conf. 10 points behind Duncan Oughton's Columbus. So at least the MLS Kiwis are at the top two clubs (and Oughton is still getting occassional game time such as today in the televised game on ESPN).

Boyens, Elliottt and Christie, that'd be cool!

Boyens hasn t appeared on the substitute bench since May and still the same tonight against chicago fire. Henry got injured and Marquez played a good 60 minutes in midfield

A little bit of relief for boyens because another defenseman has just been waived(goldwaite):

Where to now for Boyens?
thetruth never lies

Only 3 CB at NY red bulls on the roster(ream, mendes and mendes). And with Marquez playing in midfield, Boyens might have more chances to play next season

New york red bulls selected CB Tyler Lassister in the second round of the MLS draft. So Boyens is going to be in competition with him, Ream, Mendes and possibly Rafael Marquez:
