This is a big statement of intent by the key players (Dura and Ifill) and the club to make the next move in the 'Welnix 9' era.
Next get Siggy and Manny to longer contracts!!

This is a quality re-sign by the Phoenix when it comes off. Puts a massive vote of confidence in the club and coach from one of the most consistent, DURAble (and underrated) CB's in the league.

Thrust into captaincy, we struggled initially with him as captain. But since then, Durante has been a model of consistency for us. One of the unluckiest A-League players to not be capped for his country.

Meh, if he plays for aussie it may take away from us + aussie will be better WITH him and we don't want to see that. I hope they keep picking the other overrated CBs.

I'm surprised he's been never snapped up by a Korean or Japanese club. They seem to have a likening for ausi centre backs and he is better then the majority who have gone there

I feel Dura is a very underrated player who probably doesn't get the accolades because he plays for us.

Yeah youd think anyone from overseas looking for talent in the A-League would look at all the clubs, i mean its easy for aussies to not pay much attention to us but as far as other countries are concerned the Nix are just an aussie club in the aussie league, right?

Not having a go, but I really don't get this obsession about making every "foreign" player in the team eligible to play for the AWs?

OOOH DURA WE LOVE YOU!!!!

It appears my contract negotiations with Dura in the Octagon last month were successful!!! Had to reveal to him (in front of Manny) that he was my favourite, and that probably had something to do with it.

Poor Manny though. I think I might have broken his heart....

Exactly. With the amount of respect Dura would command with other players, its a huge statement from him to commit with us for 3 more years. Hopefully this encourages Manny to re-sign with us and other players to consider coming to the Phoenix.

Doesn't count as a cap so would assume he remains ok.
