Named in the Aussie u23 Asian Cup squad.

Well, that’s the end of that.

Unsure of the exact rules, but maybe not.

Gianni Stensess played at both the 2019 U20 WC and Tokyo Olympics (so U23) for NZ, before switching to Australia.

Joey Champness played for the Young Socceroos team at the 2016 AFC U-19 Championships. Later for Australia U23s, before switching to NZ.

I'm sure Gibson has looked into the FIFA rules, and sounds like that recently he was interested in playing for the AWs. Why not get some international experience with Australia, if he can switch back to NZ later.

Bazeley has been in contact with Gibson, who was born in Australia but is eligible to play for the All Whites as his mum was born in New Zealand.

“He’s another option that’s keen to be available,” Bazeley said. “At the moment, we just keep monitoring him.

“He's very young. Right now, he's probably not competing with Ben Waine and guys like that, but in two, three, four years’ time – what sort of player will he be?
