Knowles just signed today for the impact for the remainder of the season. Of course, if he impresses, he could sign next year while Montreal would seitch to the MLS. I already purchased season ticket for next season, hopefully Cameron will stay with thr Impact, especially 2 years after the major injury that he picked up while playing a game for Portland in Montreal

In the match day programme for All Whites vs Fiji, they had a interview with Oughton. He stated that Knowles was one of the best players he knows

I was thinking before the injury HN and I'm sure you know the players that I'm hinting about here... the random calls that Ricki often brings in. disco_mart2011-07-30 21:51:27

Wouldnt mind him coming into the All Whites, as he is a good solid player. Defensively, another addition even if just used for the OFC qualification games, would be good. Normally a defensive squad of six is enough for these games: Sigmund, Lochhead and Vicelich would be likely used as well as two of either Fitzgerald, Boxall, Boyens or Knowles depending on injuries or possibility of being needed by their coaches.

Winston Reid, Tommy Smith and Ryan Nelson would then be able to stay in England.

Simone Bracalello snapped a 1-1 tie with a superb individual effort to give the visitors the win. Bracalello turned defender Cameron Knowles inside out as he attacked in the 18-yard box and then sent a low shot to the far post, just out of goalkeeper Evan Bush's reach.

Was on the bench the last game because of pizzolito back from injured. But he got a yellow card and will be suspended for next saturday and replaced by Knowles

Les dfenseurs Simon Gatti et Nevio Pizzolitto rateront la rencontre de samedi en raison d'une suspension pour accumulation de cartons jaunes. Philippe Billy et Cameron Knowles prendront leur place.

Full 90 for Knowles in a 2-0 win, minnesota just got one point in another game. So Montreal is one point away from the playoff and saturday is the last game of the season: if Minnesota wins, they are in the playoff. If Minnesota draws or loses, a draw would be sufficient for Montreal to qualify abris2011-09-19 02:29:46

Unfortunately even with a 3-0 win, Montreal didn't qualify to the playoff because Minnoseta won vs Carolina...

Knowles is currently on a camp with new Impact coach Jesse Marsch in order to choose the players who will make the jump to the MLS next year

Yes, Montreal are very ambitious for the MLS as they already signed defender Nelson Rivas who used to play for Inter Milan and there are rumours saying that coach Jesse Marsch met with Nicolas Anelka in order to sign him.

Unfortunately it has been announced today that Knowles won't be part of the Impact in the MLS: so he is officially unattached..

I see Cameron has been playing over in Canada for Montreal who have just been accepted into the MLS.  Can anyone find any stats on what he is up to next season?  I have heard a rumor that he is heading over to Japan to play in the J league???

Any chance of getting him back for the Nix or the A-dubs???

Timbers name Cameron Knowles as new assistant coach

For long time Timbers fans that watched the team through the USL/USSF D2 era between 2001 and 2010, there are few players that have generated as much buzz and respect during their playing career as former USL Timber defender Cameron Knowles. Known as a very smart and adept defender, Knowles was a stalwart in the Timbers backline for many years, even playing alongside current Technical Director Gavin Wilkinson. The Timbers announced the longtime defender would join the Timbers coaching staff to replace Trevor James who resigned in December 2011. Knowles will join current assistants Amos Magee and Mike Toshack on Coach John Spencer's staff effective immediately.

Knowles appeared to be making a late push in 2009 to become one of the building blocks for the forthcoming MLS team until he suffered a horrific leg injury against Montreal in August 2009 that required surgery and many months of rehabilitation. It was a credit to his hard work that he returned to the pitch in the 2011 NASL season playing for the Impact in the same stadium where he suffered the injury, but he didn't catch on with a club during the offseason and returned to Portland. Knowles has been a fan favorite for his many charitable endeavors as well, interacting with the Timbers Army during various events.

If he is able to inspire the Timbers defenders to match the playing effort he displayed during his four year career in Portland, the defense will make huge strides towards success. Knowles might not have been the swiftest of foot, but he made up for that with incredible intelligence and a willingness to use his body to knock opposing players off their runs or scrap for loose balls. I also appreciate the hire to link more of the Timbers history with the current MLS club, as Knowles joins fellow USL/USSF D2 veteran Scot Thompson within the Timbers organization.

Gavin Wilkinson had a good 09 season with the Timbers in the NSL days, he has not done to badly for himself, he would also be another prospect.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Timbers II (6th) also make the USL playoffs. After being pretty shark for a few years, Knowles seems to be getting some credit for turning things around a bit.

Bit hard for USL coaches of MLS 2nd sides, with players coming and going like Tuiloma, between the 2 different club teams.

Along with Elliott, good to see a couple of young Kiwi coaches doing well. Though either could be hard to prise away from the States (both been there a long time), if ever wanted by the Nix or NZF.
