Currently watching Brighton vs Colchester, Wood is looking good on the ball!

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

agreed, his passing has been spot on, considering the amount of Leo Bertos style crosses and average passes being made by both teams. If only he could get some goal scoring opportunities.

Oh man, that header was a whisker away from the post. Unlucky, that would of been a fabulous goal from him.

That Noone guy was pretty good, not sure how old he is, if young, he'd be a promising talent to look for.Azevo2011-04-26 01:09:39

I always enjoy watching him play, hopefully see him up against Mexico and Australia, especially Mexico, he was so close to scoring against them last time.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

According to a Stuff article today Chris Wood has returned to WBA. Will he be able to break into the first team at all? with the likes of Odemwinge playing really well at the moment. Or is it just a fact of him not being needed at Brighton anymore as they have already gained automatic promotion, and he will go out on loan to another team next season?

He might make a good partnership with Odemwinge maybe? has to impress a new gaffer though...seems more likely to have less time...

Can't see him getting any real first team opportunities at West Brom in the near future, he's just not ready for the premier league yet I would think.
Hopefully next season he can get some good experience at championship level then who knows

talks about Wood and the other 2 WBA players out on loan returning to WBA for the last two games. hopefully Roy Hodgson likes Wood as much as Di Matteo did.

I have to admit, Chris wood looks the better player out of the three.

Yes there to train. But it will give Roy a good look at the 3 before deciding whether to keep them in the current WBA squad or send them out on loan again next season.

Haha yeah, I don't see why he wouldn't give them a run off the bench? WBA is safe from relegation. So I don't see the harm.

" I would like to play for my country at whatever level but it is down to my club and if they are willing to let me go. Everybody in football knows that pre season is very important - it is the time when you need to put your name forward."

I read somewhere that each position higher a club finishes in the league is equivalent to something like  800,000 in payout from league sponsors etc, so no club is ever going to think like that

Surely he will go to the u20 World Cup though.

A good performnace there will make his own club take notice (if the new manager hasn't already) of his potential and may also raise the interest of other clubs.

Realistically i do not see WBA selling him at this point in time (too much potential value - he's not even 20 yet), but it could lead to him getting loaned out to a club playing in a higher league, perhaps even somewhere in Europe.

A big mobile forward like him could do very well in Holland for example.

Although SJ thought they were playing Westham (from their twitter page). SJ's goal keeper scored the first goal in 3 mins! score finished 2-1 in favour of San Jose.    Assuming Wood didn't get on the field...

Wood came on for about the last 10 minutes. Can't tell you more than that (I quickly popped onto a WBA fans forum that had occasional updates).

I know, I know, its serious!

Yea listened to the game on a live radio stream and he played around 15 minutes, didn't have much impact though.

Roy is still new to us, only been here for four months, so he wants a look at the exisiting players who might have been on loan last season the likes of Craig Dawson, Chris Wood, Ishmael Miller, Roman Bednar, Joe Mattock.

There is no point us signing players for that position if Roy likes or rates the ones we already have.

There wont be wholesale changes but equally we want to keep our foot to the pedal and stay in this league. We want to make two or three quality additions but we need to get those right.

Wood is on the tour, however him along with many first team players like Odemwinge and Brunt are being rested for the Timbers game as a "precaution"

Strange that Woods has been stopped from attending the U20 World Cup when they have allowed Saido Berahino to appear for England.

Is there FIFA regulations about this?
