Leeds weren't expected to do anything this season. Perhaps dropping back to their real level now.

I think us (norwich) and villa being dog turd has left the door wide open for other teams and you are probably right.

Monk is a good manager and perhaps Swansea are rethinking how they handled him. Leeds still seem to crank out the talent in their youth setup so if they hold on to a few and keep this team going then they'll be a favourite for the top 6 next season.

I'd rather see Wood play every week in the Champ than be 3rd or 4th choice in the Prem.

no goal for wood in a 3 nil win over Preston. Sounds from Leeds report he had a good game- "scored" but was called for offside, hit the post, and was involved in first goal,as well as coming close a couple of other times. Also got a booking. Leeds 5th.

Saw the team above Leeds - Reading - got walloped 7-1 by Norwich! Figured it was a red card incident, but nope - crazy.

Named in EFL team of the season, unlucky not to picked for TOTY that award went to Knockaert.

Newcastle decide to leave the division's top scorer unmarked in the box. Oh dear. Great for Wood though, surely getting some interest from the PL even if Leeds don't get promoted

Hey great aerial finish from Chris, near post with his feet. Similarity of delivery, one front post and one back. But both late 1-1 equalisers ( 93' and 94') to keep their teams afloat against the odds.

Both newshub and tv1 sports news covered the story.  Good to see Chris get a bit of attention from our media.

That is nice, especially with such stories as the SBW shirt sponsor gate filling the headline space of late. Really hard to compete with that sort of stuff

Fuck this stupid game

Lets all hope Wood continues his scoring form to the All Whites

sbw covering up his sponsors logos is a way bigger story than a 96th minute equaliser in a league match

Bugger, Leeds drop out of the play off spots with 3 games remaining. Huge loss to Wolves.

Bertos apparently had interest from Bremen after the 2010 World Cup. I take these links with a grain of salt.

Not really comparable though, Wood has been a PL player before and is the leading scorer in the division below. Bertos just did alright in 3 games

Mooy there too. I wonder if there is anyone else in the A league who could foot it in the Championship...especially as other players like Gayle and Shelvey have recently been in the Premiership...

Would like to see how Maclaren would get on or even Rojas.

Got the assist for the goal according to the live scoring app on my phone.

The wheels have fallen off Leeds, only 2 games left to catch Fulham in 6th spot.

He has already played 10 or so games in the EPL, although the clubs were not that good. If he does move up it will  massive for him as the standard between the Championship and EPL is huge. Not sure he has it in him, but hope so.

I dunno if the gap between the top of the Championship and the bottom of the Premier League is that great, looking at some of the teams who've been promoted, and their strikers, in recent years. Leicester are an obvious example, Vardy came up with them and look at how he's done. But even accepting that as an outlier, there's also Watford who are now comfortably mid-table with Deeney as their striker and captain, who came up with them. Bournemouth are similar with Callum Wilson getting promoted with them - he might not play every game but has 20 starts this season. If those players can make the transition I don't see why Wood can't. The main thing is really just getting an extended run to settle in, which he never got in his previous PL stints.
